I did this with a tote. I still need to add more elbows, but it's been working great for a few months!

I am so glad it's working for you! Just goes to show how crazy ideas can help others!
Have you seen the bucket feeders?
Go down to Tractor Supply and get a bottle of Bovidr Labs poultry nutri-drench. give each chick one drop when they get there . then put a half of teaspoon in a quart of water for the next 3 or 4 days till they adjust to their new home . that will take care of the travel stress
I really hope things go well with your shipment. My chicks got here this morning. Got that call at 6 AM. 40 chicks, all chilled, at least 4 dead from the cold. I put the ones that looked real bad into an incubator to get their body temp up quickly. Some of those look like they might make it. I am not sure the breed of the dead ones, though for sure one is the lone polishI keep some of that here. Will do. They left Pittsburgh half hour ago!!!!!
If any of those packing peanut roos are still alive and you don't want them, I can take them in, and depending on breed, I'll either raise for meat or give to my mother in law.Im really nervous. Luckily my post office is only 5 min away and the lady incharge does a lot of craft shows with me so I know she'll call right away. I hope they are okay. Really worried about how many "packing peanuts roos" are in the box. Don't think I can put them in any of the 3 brooders I have going already and I really dont know what to do with them. Waiting to see how many.
