MsLadyHawke and I plan to meet up and toast him . I have his recipe for hard cider around here somewhere, I'll give that a try.

I'd you find it, is love to try it we can refer to it as "Stake's Cider" or "Tom's Cidar" in his memory.

So clever how you're using feed bags!! Love it.

I'm glad those things held up for so long! If we hadn't insulated or coop, I'd be coppy catting it!

Anyone wanna guess what I was thinking when I saw this?

I know Exactly What you were thinking and now I think I want like 6 of those lol.

If you have room to hold those shamo for when you come in August, I'll meet you again and pick them up. If not, don't worry about it. Do they look like pets or cockerels? Either way, it doesn't matter.

Thanks, I'm sure I got the idea from someone here. :)

Are you going to want more feed bags this fall? I've been setting them aside to send you, just in case lol.

I wish I was closer, I hope he is understanding from somewhere just how much he did mean to us and how much he will be missed, he only gave us 'his two cents' at a time but we were all richer for it!

Both of these guys were hatched from different batches of eBay eggs over the Christmas and New Year. Little rumpless "Kiwi" (right) was hatched out of a blue egg. There isn't an olive egger in our flock so we were really pleased when her first egg came out a more greeny colour. Go Kiwi!

Since her first egg aged 22weeks and 5 days she has laid 2 "fairy eggs". We're hoping she'll crank up production soon.

She is a cutie and I love that egg color! Just beautiful!

I have never had Shamos before, or even seen them in person in flocks. Pea combs are difficult for me to sex, unless I have a group to compare. My hunch is that these are both pullets. I was originally sent 3 black chicks, 2 Shamo and 1 Sumatra. One died early on and I was sort of hoping the Sumatra survived, but these 2 look identical and pretty bulky, not the sleek body type of a Sumatra, so I'm pretty sure they are both Shamo, and not a pair. Their combs are very small, but this breed has small combs.
I have the exact same issue again with this latest batch from Sand Hill. I have lost 3 chicks so far, 2 black and 1 dark brown. IDK what they are, so I will have to sort them out later on. They sent 2 more black shamo chicks in this batch, so I could have 1 or 2 more shamos growing out. If I can ID them before we meet next month, I will bring those too, but I will definitely hold these 2 for you.

Hey why was my post deleted about my birds I had available ?I never mentioned a price. what's wrong with this thread ?other people say they have Birds they want to rehome and nobody deletes their posts! you know that really upsets me! what is wrong with this thread? you guys seem to have a little chat clique and nobody who doesn't belong to it seems to be welcome. This post will probably be deleted too. I think there's something wrong with the title of this thread
it doesn't seem to have anything to do with "unite".

L oh wait post 70350 is an ad to sell. we should delete that too. do you want me to go back through the whole thread and find for sale posts that actually say that the birds for sale!?! so you can delete them all to?
Where are you? I have 2, 10 week old Black Shamos I want to sell cheap to make room for other young birds. I can't sex them at all, but they look identical to me, so likely 2 of the same sex.
This is for anyone local to me -- if Roger is too far, anyone else interested on 2 black shamos?

I wouldn't know how to delete a post even if I wanted to (and I don't want to). I have found some quirky things with this new forum software. I am never quite sure if I have found all the posts to read or not.
Still, it beats the alternatives like FB for having a discussion.

Well the girls are gone. anybody want a little mix breed Cockrel. sire was a show-quality Light Sussex and the dam was a hatchery grade Brown Leghorn .he's free if anybody wants to come and get him, give me a holler. .he's a good little boy. Hatched the 1st of May.
