Just for future reference how many toms can you have in a flock? And if you dont slaughter them how long is a normal healthy life span? Do they get leg problems when they get older? I want to keep every single one now lol.Looks like they might be from a new layer. Sometimes you just get strange eggs though. Most times it's just a glitch in the system.
Welcome to the fun!
Your boy is so handsome! And that goat! What a cutie with the hat. I must have gotten lucky with my turkeys, they all go in the coop at night with no problems. I pave only had one night that my Wheezy slept outside somewhere, but I think the Roo had chased her out. I don't know that I could slaughter any turkeys now, after having their cuteness around...
They live for many years, unless a predator (or vehicle) gets them. I think they are like roos, if they are raised together and stay together, they get along with some occasional sparring. I have 2 RP boys that are the flock masters and always hang out together. At least one on them is breeding actively with the hens because I have poults from them, but there are no injuries on anyone.Just for future reference how many toms can you have in a flock?
