Wingstone, have you considered Marans for your meat birds? I've read that their meat has a different (supposedly better) taste. I haven't noticed, but my son says it's true.

One of the goats figured out how to get loose today.. Watched my 9 yr old DD catch her up, struggle to carry the little pudge ball up the hill and then awkwardly dump her inside the fence. DD had hardly turned back around and little Miss SmartiePants goat was already back over the fence. Wish I had that on film.

Very Sweet letter, and great drawings. Not many kids these days are that appreciative. Nice to see.

Sally, the fence is electric. And when I watched her go back over, she doesn't quite clear it and so lands on/in it. Doesn't deter her. DH wants a more powerful fence. I'd prefer a stationary stronger fence. (All the more reason to get a cow to put in there with them!)
 
I'm cleaning up the house for Thanksgiving...listening to my NSYNC Holiday CD and my husband looks at me, sighs and says "It's not you...it's your awful taste in music."

My parents have had goats my whole life and that is how they are! You think you have them safe and secure and they figure a way out of the fence!! Tricky little buggers I think the larger breed goats aren't as sneaky and don't try to break free like the pygmys did! Good luck but once you figure out their tricks it should be fine. We never used electric just had a secure fence!
