Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

I think Niko is starting to be broody! YAY! Now, who has eggs for her and at what $$? I like big birds. I like colored eggs. Dennis, do you have any Lav Ams? Is there anyone closer to Lycoming Co or is a Train passing through soon?
If you can find a reason to come this way, I have lots of eggs available. The Lavender Ams will produce some percentage of silkied birds. If you don't want them, you should be able to find someone that does.

Hey all! I've been MIA for a bit because it's been busy here, but I have a question. @fisherlady or anyone else. One of my meat birds is clearly dying. It's not too far, but is having very labored breathing, and it's belly looks purple too. If I kill it, is it safe to eat?

Yes, safe to eat... the sooner the better for dispatch from the sounds of it.

The congestive heart failure causes hypoxia and eventually their heart gives out, the meat is fine though. I would hang them upside down to cut their throat if you can, their hearts are pretty weak and they won't bleed well unless aided by gravity. I don't like having blood pooled in the meat if I can avoid it.

Wow, that wasn't hard at all! My cone was a little small, and my nails were too long to grab the lungs completely, but it all worked out. Weight is after gutting.

Hey, people. What internet providers do you have?
HughesNet has such awful reviews, but offers the best price and speed.
Verizon speeds were a joke. Only “up to 7mbps Download speed”

We have Verizon, and shockingly, in the woods we get better speeds than in the suburbs. We need that because hubby is in the IT field. We recently were able to get gigabit speeds.

This silly chicken was hiding her eggs in the tree until we saw her up there!

Things are going well here, cleaned up a lot outside over the weekend, and currently getting ready for my daughter's birthday party this coming weekend. Hopefully the weather cooperates.

 That's awesome!

Picked up a box of chicks from the PO this morning. It is still so much fun to get new chicks in the mail. They arrived in great shape from TX, after 1.5 days in the mail.
26 Lavender cochin bantams.

Dennis, will you be ordering from the vendor that had Cream Brabanters? I still would like to get a few.

I finally ordered Verizon today. It was a hard decision. It is only supposed to go up to 7mbps here.
I asked a question via chat before ordering today, and had to deal with a horrible boy. He didn’t use punctuation or grammar to begin with. He didn’t know what I meant by DSL. His manners were a nightmare. He literally told me off because I don’t know what my service will handle.
He thought transferring me to someone else was a dig. The second guy answered my question quickly, and we were done.
I wish I’d waited another day. I could have entered your customer referral code.
