That's awesome. I'm sorry I had to step away briefly. Congratulations
The quail are making their grownup noises. I have heard trilling, cooing and croaking. I thought I was imagining the croaking, but someone else commented on it too. So funny!
I’m surprised that they are doing it so soon.
Ohhh! Thank you for the photos!! I often wonder if the coop I buy will be big enough for 6 hens... Advertising vs. Reality. I'd hate for them to be cramped inside or have trouble walking up the ramp...
We had more baby goats late last night.
Last year was a terrible growing season. My garden did not do well either. Very disappointingMy red peppers germinated poorly, but I did have a few good looking plants out of an entire pack of seeds. The green never germinated. I planted throughout the spring and summer. Changed sun and water habits. Nothing. The freebies I received never germinated either.
Watermelon was not impressive, but...
I ended up with tomatoes that got blight quickly, and didn’t grow very big. Not a single pepper of any kind made it, and the melons, pumpkin and... whatever else I planted didn’t grow much.
Work got in the way but I'm back. Let the goat rodeo begin!I missed you! You’re fun to torture!!

Drafts are bursts of air coming from the window behind me, making me cold, and blowing through my heating oil.
Wind is the stuff that moves through the window freely above their heads.

@BullChick & @FluffyButt789 ,
My dad has a plastic shed, not as many bells & whistles with doors and windows..but DH was letting me know that he has issues with squirrels chewing through it. Those dang squirrels have chewed the wiring on his old van, and numerous other important things around the property.
Just another view on the issue at hand...didn't want to barge in on your conversation.
Looks like a real nice shed, but if your that concerned about drafts with all the extra "ports" & doors, maybe the wood shed would be better?? Do you have a picture of the wooden one?
Might be easier to retro-fit/alter a wooden one?...
Sorry not much help here. We have a wood & 1/2 brick coop. Have learnt to work around the brick bottom, having the wood makes it easier to attach things.
The plastic would be awesome though for keeping clean..that is a plus-plus, but I am a bit nutts-o about stuff like that![]()

Thanks for all the info!
Yes I thought about critters chewing through the plastic, but we don't have many critters anyway, and generally keep the doors open during the day so they do help themselves to the chicken food. (I am a big animal lover) We also have birds come in and lay their eggs in our nesting boxesI figure I'll inspect the coop every day for chew marks, and add stones, chicken wire, or other deterrents. I really want the plastic coop because our current wood coop is leaking. At least plastic is easier to seal up! Tired of the mold and dirtiness in our current coop.
I'm intrigued. Quail are tiny little birds, aren't they? What made you become obsessed with them? Talk me into it!![]()
