Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

I have khaki Campbell, Peking’s and Rouen ducks.
I have Ameracaunas blues, blacks. I do have chicks and hatching eggs available at request occasionally.
I also have Isa browns, austalops currently and Plymouth blues coming this year.
I’m from the western pa area, about 75 miles north of Pittsburgh.

Welcome from Indiana county! Just chickens at our place... lots of chickens, lol. :frow

Ok duck people. My BIL shot these two for his kids maybe 2 weeks ago. I know they are khaki cambel and Mallard but are they any tips tricks to second them? Unfortunately, their dog tried to eat one so "Franky" and "Hulk" now live at our house. My only experience is with muscovies.

@LittleMissPurdy

You, my friend, are the best! :love I really appreciate your feedback and recommendations for modifying a prefab. Modifying is doable. Building my own this year is not. But I am getting help to build a large pen/run to enclose the coop, complete with a metal roof.

I'm actually reading more on chicken coops/housing. Picked up "Raising Chickens for Dummies."

Learning, learning, learning. :D
Hey, that's what it is all about.:highfive:
Learning and passing it along. We all have so much to share that way with each other. So many different experiences, but many learnt lessons can be applied to all types of situations!
Having help is awesome. Raising birds is not hard, just takes some time to get into your own groove. Sometimes weird things will pop-up, they always do, but with a bit of research there is so much you can handle. Asking questions is always good too.
I don't think there is such a thing as knowing "too much".
I personally learn something new everyday, no lie, especially on this website. So much information from all over the world, it is great. Even if I never have to apply it, it is there.:old

Storey’s Guide to Raising Poultry by Glenn Drowns is a fantastic book. Used copies are out there, or you can get an autographed copy here: https://www.sandhillpreservation.com/book-catalog

Disclaimer: I am personal friends with the author. He has an incredible amount of experience with poultry of all sorts and has distilled much of it into that book.
See, there you go..more information!:D
Will be looking into this for sure, Thank you!

I'm just sick of the wind already. When did PA become Kansas already?
:barnie

It’s so cold, the dog was whining about it!
It was really nice last week. Had the birds out in the yard. They really enjoyed themselves...no pics though:hmm, didn't take the camera out...for once.;)
Now every time I go out there they holler at me to let them out..chickadee sounds like a truck that can't start..cha-cha-cha-cha-cha. She runs to the "out" door & yells...:rolleyes:..gets everyone else going too.
The wind has been rough here too.
Today was nice, when I did go out.. UGGGG this body some days:th...would have been better out there without the air though.

Dany-YEEEEEELL!!!!
I’ve not had good luck with strawberries yet. I bought some plants from TSC, and idk if I’m supposed to soak the bag once a week until planting, or what.
@LittleMissPurdy
I don't think you want them squishy soaked...just wet. I would rather have to water more often than soak them too much.
Do you have a pic of them?? Maybe I can be more help.:D
What type id you get...ever-bearng or june-bearing? We have June-bearing. You get a ton all at once, but it is nice to can-up that way. Have found that berries have a very short shelf life. Trying to wait till you get a bunch to put up is very frustrating:barnie..most will be nasty before the rest come in. JMO...or you could invest in both kinds if you like picking all season. That is actually not a bad idea..HMmmm:caf...if DH saw this I would get a look, :lau.
Really, by the time the berries are done, we are DONE with them! Love them, BUT....so much and many others things to get done & harvest.

Stroudsburg/Snydersville area.Looking for other duck owners in area.
Well Hello there & Welcome:frow
Sorry, I do not have ducks & am quite a ways away from you.

We are supposed to hit 60 degrees tomorrow. It’s better than more rain. I need my pastures and pens to dry up.
Hello..did I miss saying "HI" to you???:idunno
I am confused easily so:p...Hello & welcome :frow
