Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

:th..okay, a loaded basket right there!! Awesome:D

so cute...love the mallard.
The chicks in the background look a bit unsure of the GIANTS in their pen:lol:

Lol, they're very unsure but some of the chicks that WERE in there were freaking out! I moved the smallest back to a different brooder and the biggest to another one. The few still in there are the most accepting lol

It’s the boxed kind. I finally did dunk it in a bowl of water to get the soil damp. :fl I hope I finally get strawberries to grow!!

:weeColleen is out of the bathroom. I built a temporary pen out of 2x4 fencing 4' high with a dog house in it with one of the "nice" chickens, Serena, for company. Zip tied a roof on it made of the same stuff because evil pup can and did jump the 4' fence. Later this summer we'll build a big run with a section that I can separate out for just such future problems. I did try isolating Ruth in there first but Clyde immediatly got all rapey and I think maybe another hen is also a bully. BUT the important part is I HAVE MY BATHROOM BACK!!:wee

Hello..did I miss saying "HI" to you???:idunno
I am confused easily so:p...Hello & welcome :frow
I recently returned after being away from chickens for a few years . I recently bought my own farm, no more relocating. I bought a few chickens last year, but have more coming. I’m trying this year to put together some good breeding stock.

okay, had the 'box' type before. i think they tell you to sok them...so your doing what you should do then! see..that helped me..hahaha
We planted our strawberries on a "mound" , they are in well drained soil with lots of light. Hope some os that helps you. We actually have issues with ants from time t time..those little pis*'ers will take small "bites" from the most beautiful strawberries and ruin them. We still use the berry, but it doesn't look good boxed up for people you know?!
We had to resort to placing ant traps around to get things under control. We believe it has taken care of the 'nest', so fingers crossed for this June!:fl
Hate having to resort to taking them out like that, but we were inundated.

If you are up for the raspberry challenge, hahaha:lau, I can send you some starters. You may even get a few berries this fall with them.
They can be a handful though. They like to grow as if they own the place. You will never run out of them for sure! I should do a container experiment...yes, I think I will try that this year. Won't take too much time & I would be able to send out starters without the new tenants worrying about total berry invasion:oops:! HAHAHA

my gawd woman you make me lose more food-coffee through my nose than a little bit..."all-rapey"?! :lau...the dogs didn't mind finding all the veggies straws that flew out of my mouth after reading that part! Geesh..i have got to get it together...
SOOO glad to hear your girl is doing better AND YOU have your bathroom back!! That is a much needed room for sure, without an audience.:p
Good luck with all your future construction. Sounds like you have the situation figured out very well now.:highfive:

Congratulations!!! Its good to have a bathroom.

@BullChick ...
the box strawberries need only be "watered" for about an hour or so, if they weren't completely dried..hopefully not. Then they are ready to be planted after their "bath"..haha
Just don't want to see you over-water-love the plants before getting them into dirt...i have done this before & felt like :he
Sometimes those box plants don't give us the whole growing information. Have learnt the hard way about these , bulbs, all kinds of bear-root plants...i am a plant murder:oops::hit, but have learnt how not to be one too:D...
Was just watching a whole bunch of u-tube videos..learning that right now I have to transplant some of my seedlings already & feed them, like that miracle grow stuff.
I am also guilty of watering the wrong way from time to time:hmm.., here i am thinking i know what i'm doing:idunno..geesh...
Really want this to work out this season & save a whole lot of $$$.
I am also behind on getting the peppers started too:barnie...
Well, good news ..the girls are giving us 3 eggs almost every day now!:yesss:..hey man, I will take the good where I can get it!

I have khaki Campbell, Peking’s and Rouen ducks.
I have Ameracaunas blues, blacks. I do have chicks and hatching eggs available at request occasionally.
I also have Isa browns, austalops currently and Plymouth blues coming this year.
I’m from the western pa area, about 75 miles north of Pittsburgh.

Hi, I'm near Erie PA. I only have chickens right now. Do plan on ducks and turkeys in the future.
