Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

sorry for the late reply, just got on here.
What are her wattles/comb looking like? dark, swollen? spots?
Any discharge?..gosh I hate that word-nasty...anyway,
wheezing?
has she tried to move at all? Good work moving her from the others...
If she will, try to get some electrolytes into her..maybe even apply VetRX on her beak & chest area...just throwing some easy, non-invasive ideas out there.
Keep checking on the egg issue also, you just never know.:idunno
When our girls get any inclination of resp.-issue, the vetRX goes on first..that has done it 99.9% of the time. Most times these issues come up when temps. fluctuate too quickly either way, Stress...
let us know what is going on..fingers crossed for you & her.:hugs

Comb and wattles are red as usual. She is drinking. Not eating. Poop is watery. Wheezing a little bit. Of course I ran out of vetRX... but I'll add electrolytes to her water. She gets up sometimes, but sits and sleeps mostly. She's one of the hens that would be terrified of me handling her but she hasn't fought me.

I thought she might be egg bound because she was in the nesting box all day yesterday. I did research on it, gave her a warm bath with epsom salt, and tried to feel for an egg but don't feel anything. She refuses to walk but will stand on both feet fine. No sign of external injuries. Her eyes are clear too. That's why I'm lost on what her problem is.

I love Ameraucanas too. I have Blacks and Lavenders from John Blehm. The blacks are especially fine birds. If you are interested in eggs or chicks let me know.
John Blehm is a great breeder. I’ve talked to him several times over the years. I would like some eggs sometime . I need a new incubator , I’m not sure if I should get a good one or splurge on the Dickey or GQF sportsman. I have a bonus coming in October from my job and thinking in just going for one of the big ones.

I have a link to my incubator reviews in my tagline for these posts. Basically, I recommend the GQF Genesis for small breeders. They are also good hatchers for the cabinet incubators. For the cabinets, you can often get used GQF 1202's for about $400 on Craigslist. That is a bargain. But keep in mind that you can buy an awesome Dickey with digital thermostat for $644.90 (plus about $75 for shipping, they are heavy). So don't pay over $500 for a used 1202 (maybe for a 1502, but be sure it is in good working order, lots of expensive parts to break on that model).

Here is the chicks feet.

Watery poo may be from only drinking and not taking in solid foods...also a sign of poor nutrition absorption like an advanced case of coccidosis. Check her weight/body condition by feeling her keel bone [breast bone].... birds often hide illness for an extended period and weight loss is rarely noticed unless you physically check and keel bone is a good quick reference.
Check the poo very closely for signs of worms and treat if any suspected, otherwise I would treat for coccidosis. You may need to tube feed her for a couple days to make sure meds and nutrition are getting into her.
Open mouthed breathing isn't good normally but could be (remotely)possible that she is overly warm if not adjusted to inside temps yet. Hoping that is all it is. Check her for 'bulby butt'... which basically means her abdominal area between end of breast bone and vent feels swollen, like a water balloon. If present it can be a sign of peritonitis (infection in abdominal area) maybe from internal laying... or ascites, which is fluid which accumulates in abdomen and is most often associated with cancers or liver problems.
Diagnosing animals is so hard, frustrating when they can't tell us how they feel...and worse because they do everything they can to hide problems until the situation is desperate. :barnie
