Chicks finally moved to their coop. They are very happy about the coop. But nobody roost, they all piled up under the ramp to sleep.

Duckling pulled out the five Steven over SPR eggs we had in the house, and the incubator is on. The woman at Rural King says she’s comfortable telling me they will have chicks in three weeks, but I really need to test this incubator, and these eggs only cost a few dollars of electricity. Not to mention I don’t have to deal with the drama of Duckling (coming into a dangerous store :th ) wanting poults and ducklings with seventeen chicks... after traveling half an hour.

Yes, ma’am. I am glad I let him stay a while. Meat Loaf seems trained. Steven Tyler was pushing ML around the other day, and I knew it was time.

The coop looks great!

As to the youngsters staying on the floor... that isn't uncommon when they are transitioning. You may need to go out late in the evening and put them up for a night or two, they will get the idea pretty quick after that.

@BullChick
Do you have a dog crate or large transport kennel of some type? One of those, parked in a corner and covered with a darkening sheet can make a good multi-hen brooding box. It will also make a good location for the hens to then brood their crew, because I can about guarantee that even if you put them in 3 boxes in separate corners with 2 chicks each by the end of day 2 you will find them all in a pile in the 4th corner sharing the chicks!

Dog is destroying my pond! I need a 300 or 500 gallon stock tank - rubbermaid type. dang dog. She should have been named Artemis instead of Boudicca. She is a huntress. Chickens are doing good. 2 of them aren't laying but one of those two rarely laid anyway. Dunno why Rory is on strike. Haven't had a brown egg for a while, just three blue and one green.

Can you get one of those above ground pools? Like the easy set with the poles. I have used them for a pond for my koi.

2/3 (ain’t bad. Doooon’t beee sad...) girls are in the cage. I’m waiting for dark to run out, and check the situation with the third, and see if anyone decided to roost on the cage. :lol: I know the cover is going to get pooped on.

Meat Loaf is knocking his step - sons off of hens. I will have to get them butchered soon. Duckling was singing about that. :lol:
I was actually surprised that she recognized that one boy looks like a colorful hen. He had me fooled for a long time.
