So I have question. A few weeks ago we had a predator attack during the day. On girl was killed, rooster the minor injury, another girl died from her injuries and the third one is still getting deathers back but doing OK. They are not my birds, lol. They belong to my neighbor but they have attached themselves to my 2 girls that are safely confined. They eat with mine and hang out all day around my coop. Why are they doing this and how can we get them to stop?

What BullChick said... I would add in another factor, Their rooster wasn't satisfied with the hens he had and considered your girls part of "his" flock and kept hoping to find them available. Unfortunately it put him and his girls in a vulnerable position. Does your neighbor not care that his birds were attacked?

She and I were very upset about this attack, especially since it occurred right next girls pen in broad daylight.

I miss free ranging because it’s hysterical to go to the door, and have a bunch of faces standing in the window, waiting for lunch or dinner scraps. I’ve even had birds watch us play T-ball, and occasionally run after the ball.
Alas, I lost a lot of birds last year. I really wasn’t expecting it.

Is it possible for a duck to lay 2 eggs in 1 day? She had not layed any eggs for a couple days and yesterday I found 2. 1 in the middle of the walkway to the coop and 1 in the hay. And I had checked the hay the night before at chore time to make sure there was no eggs and did not find any. I even moved the hay around.
