Something like this, they are great for pulling air.

Today I lost my beloved rooster, Tiger. He was a Black Copper Marans from Dennis. He was a wonderful guardian, protector, teacher, and friend to my batch of young pullets and cockerels, always making sure they all went safely inside their coop at dusk and keeping watch until I came out to lock them up no matter how late it was. He had been fighting the flock respiratory infection his whole life, and always had a rasp in his throat, but he worked through it and I think he truly loved his life and his charges. He is sorely, deeply missed, but I know he has found his place with the Lord.❤️✝️

Sorry to hear about Tiger. It is hard to lose a friend like that.

I'm sorry to hear that. He was quite a handsome fellow, and it sounds like you gave him a wonderful and fulfilling life.

Sorry for your loss. RIP, Tiger. I have respiratory disease from the Meyer chicks recently. Now everyone is sneezing.:barnie All chicks from Dennis were healthy. My first flock from him are still doing great at 5y old.

I’m so sorry to hear that TillyPeeps. My flock has been fighting the same respiratory illness for 3 years. It’s not from Dennis, his birds got it when they came here. It’s not Newcastle, influenza, or any of the fast killers, I’m thinking it’s some kind of Mycoplasma but they don’t respond to antibiotics at all. However, the 3rd generation chicks are doing great, and although we had a few sniffles early on they seem to have much more resistance to the disease, whatever it is. Marans seem to be particularly susceptible, which is awful because it’s one of my favorite breeds, and Tiger fought it for over a year before he died. What a sweetheart, it really hurts going out to the pen at dusk and not finding him waiting for me.:hit
