In the picture above, it looks like blowing into the dish/catcher is the only way for water to get in.
Agreed, and if water wicks up into the tube it becomes a mess.
2 things come to mind. Try to provide a longer or steeper slope between where it comes out of the tube and the catch basin/feeder section. This will make it harder to get fluid the whole way up into the tube where it becomes a pain to clean up.

Create a shield between the tube and feeder section. If rain blowing in is the problem placing a piece of plastic wrap between the tube and the chicken wire should reduce it a good bit. Simply use a 2 ft piece regular kitchen plastic wrap to create a wind /rain break. Creative use of duct or packaging wrap tape will hold it in place (tuck corners through the chicken fence and tape it back to itself). Cheap and easy to replace as needed. If it works then you can figure on a more sturdy permanent replacement.

My Welsummer passed away last evening. It’s a relief because she’s been acting like she’s been dying here and there.
A crazy storm is raging right now. If @OneMountainAcres is getting it, I am sure she will have trees down.
Sorry for your loss. It's never easy to lose them even when you tried everything you could to help. Right before the storm, we tried to mow the lawn while both front tires of the mower went flat. We fixed one tire last year with dish soap and airpump, but it didn't work this time. Then we got caught in the storm when bringing the tires to a shop. :thGood news is: we added tubes to the tires, so they will not keep getting flat again. :yesss:

Just lost the last of Dennis’s Black Copper Marans (my head rooster Rex) to Marek’s disease. He was a wonderful head roo, kind, loving, attentive, and devoted to his family, and his children, although unvaccinated, are showing some natural resistance both to the Marek’s and to the flock’s unidentified respiratory disease. In fact, one of Rex’s sons, Flip, took ill about the same time Rex did (his legs were partly paralyzed), and he has fully recovered and is running around with his brothers and sisters! (I never heard of that happening before!). So my Rex leaves behind a precious legacy. God be with us, wherever we are.💔✝️😥

Everyone ready for all the rain coming through tomorrow? I was scheduled to mow grass tomorrow at work..... not happening lol. I'm going in early and hanging out with one of the custodian ladies for the day tomorrow instead. The only thing I'm worried about is the group of poults that are new to the flock. I hope they figure out to go back in on their own and not stand out in the rain...

Is everyone still doing good? I hope nobody floated away! I heard that the Wimore Dam has failed and I'm praying they were able to evacuate everyone on time. Here, the lake was up 8" by 1pm today and Chest Creek down in town is still creeping up higher. Lots of roads closing due to flooding down in Altoona and Hollidaysburg ( I don't think we'll be having church tomorrow evening) and I think everything isn't supposed to crest until tomorrow morning sometime. Everyone stay safe and dry!

Pictures of Chest creek on my way home from work:
