I got a feeling the whole duck thing is gonna be just as hard to choose as the chickens,,,,,,I knew i wanted to try ducks this summer, when i set for new years' I had 4 different breeds. the only 2 that hatched were the pekin and the swedish....so far i am liking the swede better but hubby likes the pekin better...it's a noise thing, my swede is noisy...while the pekin hardly makes a noise....I thought about seperating a pen and ordering a duck assortment with lots of different breeds just to compare.
lesson learned.....never hatch ducks unless it is warm enough that they are outside within a week or two.
I also gotta ask....is it the same with ducks....I have hatchery chickens and I have breeder chickens,,,,,you can not compare them, hatchery stock is just not the same...
