when rehoming these roo's.......PLEASE......make sure you inform everyone involved as to why you are rehoming them.....if they have been mean, do not tell them that they are the nicest rooster out there...
with that said.....many of us on here will...and have.. taken the mean boys.....but they have no fairy tale ending,,,,I think you all know what happens to these boys.
not attacking you penta,,, I have just had lots of people contact me about taking roosters with the assumption that they live happily ever after... (I prefer the do not tell if they do not ask approach )..
Quote: farmer no doubt in his situation that mean roo was a good thing, that was one very lucky roo....
as anyone who has seen my pens can tell you I have a hard time parting with the boy's, they are gorgeous birds and I could listen to the crow all day long,,,,,but when it comes to safety of the grandkids who will occasionally walk into a pen unsupervised, I take no chances....a rooster crosses the line and they are gone instantly...they can take out an eye in a split second...
Yes Sir!So sayeth Captain Obvious! Pass the OJ-brew hombre!
Just a glass or two? The funny thing is if I were to drink two glasses of wine I would be feeling fairly well. Jameson, Guiness or my OJ and it takes quite a bit more for that same thing. hmmmSorry, I only had a glass (or two) of wine before posting. It made sense to me! Lol
roo, hen, hen.OK 3 more photos for you guys to opine on Gender and Breed:
This is the welsummer that I posted before and we thought could end up being a roo. Still think roo?
Any idea on what breed? Came from a green/blue egg. Any signs of roo v. hen?
3 week old blue copper maran - friendly as can be. My daughter will brush the hair on her feet and she will coo! Any signs of hen or roo?

See there ya go.Well if I knew you ladies would approve of my picture, I would have posted it months ago!![]()
Ray in PADoes anyone on here have/ selling call ducks?
I agree on the first. The marans looks more like a pullet.#1 Roo based on comb. #3 I'd say based on the sparse feathering and lack of tail Roo.![]()
Don't wanna have the turks in with a flock of chickens. There are things spread from chickens to turkeys that'll kill them.Flock Combination question.
Older flock; 2 wyandotte, 6 bantams and 3 cochin roos.
Young flock; 6 RIR, 2 leghorns, 1 serama, 2 mallard ducks, 2 pekin ducks, and 4 red bourbon turkeys. Everything is a couple months old.
My coup is divided into 2 sections with wire mesh in between. Both sides have their own run and the younger birds have a heat lamp in case it gets cold.
How long do I leave them separate?
When I do combine them, do I do everyone at once or a couple at a time?
Any other tips for combining flocks?
You think just $83? Granted it wouldn't just be the PA BYC women there. At least try to use realistic numbers lol."Honey I am back from the York Show and I have 2 chicks, a few scratch marks, 1 bite mark perhaps 2, and $83!"
