Ok...may possibly head out to the York show, just for a little bit to see it, but need to clean house and get DH up first...he went back to bed when he discovered I wasn't getting up....and he's got bronchitis...poor guy.

True. The problem with an EE is that heavens knows the genetics on it. They can lay any possible color of egg... I've always thought EE's were a silly ploy to sell mixed breeds. Anyways, so the roo would provide brown egg genes and the EE hens would provide blue (making olive) or pink/tan/brown.

Okay, I am getting more mixed up with every post.
I have Ameraucana pair, a BCM trio, 2 EE laying blue now. The EE started out green, but I have been getting blue since the second week.
Am rooster over BCM hen is OE or is it BCM roo over an Am hen?
If I hatch out the EE blue covered by the BCM am I getting a mix of layers? Will the boys carry mixed genes, or just blue or brown?
I am very sorry. I studied genetics a year ago when I got into chickens, but I cannot find my notes, and the info left my head.
