Goats-2
Blarney-1

Translation: upgrade in fence charger on Saturday has kept ONE goat in, YAY! Although....the other 2 are eating my landscape:(

New grounding rods went in last night....although I think I hear a visitor clip clopping on the deck right now.

I REFUSE to give up! There is a poop free deck in my future, I just know it!!

and on an unrelated note, Fisherlady, any news on the pup? Have you considered 'Mork' for a name? Hee hee.

Note to self: I don't want goats. I don't want goats. Much much easier to go to Blarney's and visit.

I have mine tied. She's chewing my $20 lunge line, but she hasn't chewed through it yet. Once we get the new shed up for her and the future goat, we have 4' no climb fence and electric tape to install. I hope that keeps them in... I am concerned about it now with all your issues, Blarney.

Wing- yes, I got Sally's Ancona ducks. I was planning on raising Pekin ducks, but my one was murdered by a low down dirty critter. I was on schedule with my Pekins to have eggs this summer. After losing my one Pekin, I wasn't sure what I wanted to do. Of course Sally solved my problem. Thanks again Sally. Now I am back to my old plan, but with a different breed. The more research I did on the Ancona the more I wanted them.
Your Ancona and Silver Appleyard eggs go into lock-down tonight. I am going to candle before lock-down, but at last candling there were 8 of each that were looking good. If all goes well there will be little duckies running around this weekend.
YAY!!

Adding Sally candled again SHE HAS 17 Ancona Duck VIABLE so she will be SELLING EVERY SINGLE DUCKLING ASAP!

Does anyone make their own ACV? (Besides me). Just curious how much making it yourself saved, s I only ever bought one bottle.. Apple cider is about $7 a gallon and makes just less than a gallon of vinegar. Am I wasting my time?

Edit as my eyes open
I would love to be able to buy gallon jugs or even 5 gal bucket of it! I never made it and cant find mother stuff in big batches anywhere! I add a dribble to all waterers to keep them from stenching up and I have a **** load of waterers

Quote: It may not appear that way to some, but i have stuck to my plan also,,,ducks don't count,,,my vietnamese customers would come pick them all up with a phone call...
as soon as that darn plucker gets here, i will have alot less roo's.....so how hard will it be to get this thing off the truck,,,,we paid to have it delivered directly to the farm, but hubby refused to pay another hundred to have them unload it, he says well it is only 175 ounds packed weight,,,I sure hope this is not a disaster.
It wont be, it will work out!
Quote: I don't like that you don't know a mans ideas! LOL so think about what you need now, a new barn or hey a new car????

Wingstone,

What kind of plucker did you get? We used to take our birds for processing to the guy (Eli Reiff) who has the ads for Poultryman equipment in Lancaster Farming. After seeing his setup and how efficient it is, that's what I wish I had. And since I don't, I pay someone else.
