One of the reasons I think I want the Delawares is to - wait for it - have a project of experimental sex-link meat birds of Delaware over Marans. It seems like a fine purpose for the Marans hens whose eggs are too light to hatch as purebreds. I'm supposed to be getting Delaware hatching eggs from an ALBC dual purpose flock in june, after she has hatched as many as she needs for her own use.

Wish I'd known that when I had the 2 Delaware roos from Whitmore Farms...I would gladly have given you one of them. Now I only have the one....

Yes I am! At the moment I have nothing I want to part with, but I have a few in the brooders. I actually sold my best roo back to Erin, so I'm going to be short a boy too.

I also have a very awesome chicken for sale. His name is Claus. He is not good with children, but is fine with adults. He is an awesome looking bird! I am so sad to have to sell him. I can't take a chance of DD getting hurt. I have 2 blue cockerels growing up right now. They are also for sale. I have decided not to pursue the LF Cochins. I do love them for my egg flock, the girls will be staying. I am thinking of maybe taking him to the special sale at the Leb Valley Auction this Saturday.

Too bad the Roo isn't working out, my guys are so easy going with people. What color is he, can you post a pic of him if you have one ?
