all caught up, now i must bravely take my work shoes off and change into chicken shoes,,(to make a long story short, i dropped a skid on my foot last night, not once but twice,,,one of those nights...but anyway I am afraid it will suddenly balloon up and i will not be able to get my other shoe back on....well here goes...)

Hey, y'all! What's up? Sorry for being MIA. Just really hectic around here. Just wanted to say hi. Hope everyone's doing well! Been a rough winter here. VERY happy it's finally spring! Working on a drawing of the kiddos with chickens...LOL...and figured I'd share, since no one else in my life gets it! Cute wee bumpkins Another work-in-progress that I can't seem to finish! *Sigh* What's everyone up to & hatching? I've got a broody wheaten Am, otherwise nothing to report. Someone gonna surrender some to me? Hmmm?

So this is what I hate it at now..... When I came home I went to lift the little tab of membraine and that QUICK it ripped..(all i wanted to do is see under it) and blood started gushing everywhere!! I had a paper towel around it..... and so I then (since no one really was on and i needed to work fast for the blood was filling into its mouth!!) opened where the air sack was... and started chipping down the middle so it can breathe without any issues... so now its in the bator with a moist paper towel.




This is it in the bator. I have bubble wrap under it, the paper towel kept wanting to soak up the yolk. So I have some paper towel under the bubble wrap. There is a moist paper towel over it too. It looks horrible. But it keep trying to push its way out so I hope thats a good thing... and it is very talkitive. Breathing well. I am allowing it more time to soak the yolk up. I can't beleive how fast it happened!



On a better note.. this little one hatched on its own while I was at work. Took him out of the bator so it dosent run the messed up one over.

OMYGAWD woman! I thought it was a murder scene! What in the world you poor thing, no wonder you were fretting holy sheet! Can we have an update? awwwwww I never seen that happen unless the broody pecked at them! awwwwww I Congrats on the other!

...and a chicken cartoon. I have a few more that I'll post eventually...LOL. Sorry, probably should be on the art forum, but they're all kids on there & I feel creepy hanging out on that page...LOL.

Ray lives near Christmas Village and even out on the main road (rt 183) traffic pretty much stops during their open times, its ALWAYS been HORRIBLE, when Ilived in Bernville I had to go miles out of my way to get home to avoid sitting in traffic with idiots! lol

I hope your toes feel better! how do you drop skids on your feet woman>?

I have chicks rocking inside the bator with that lil one running around and knocking on eggs lol Look who's talking! The woman that can't leave the house from Jan-Dec because there's always chicks in the brooder and eggs in a bator. Even the feed gets delivered

Hey Pennsylvania! Hubs and I are considering buying a house in Glen Rock, PA. We're moving from just under the border in Maryland. I can't find any answers as to if I can keep my chickens in Glen Rock. We found a wonderful house that will sit on about a third of an acre, but it will be a deal breaker if I have to leave my girls behind. Does anyone know? Apparently the township office is only open for 3 hours today, from noon to 3.

Yeah, I am obsessed with my Temp and humidity now.. This was my morning routeen with the eggs: My Ex is staying with me for a few days.. and watch me like.. Umm ok, this is interesting!!
As I suck out the old water though a fish tank tube.. ( what I prolly looked like

) Then I have my baster pushed into this Fish tank tube, I had to cut the ends and wrap it around the baster to put the hot water back in!! Boy did i burn my fingers a little, I made that water pretty hot but the humidity was down to like 50-55.. ugh

Have my fellow Western Pennsylvanian chicken mommas heard that the cicada are supposed to hatch this year?! I'm so excited.

I raise meal worms for the girls to have in the winter since everything is frozen here in the winter so knowing that the cicada are coming is great! I've read posts from ppl out west who gather grasshoppers when they swarm and freeze them.

Better believe I'm gonna have some containers of cicada in the freezer for this winter. The girls are gonna be soooo happy!

Those things scare me! evil looking little suckers!!!

lol Glen Rock! you prolly wont have neighbors for miles!! lol I couldn't imagine there rules being crazy strick on chickens Good Luck with everything!

i have broken toes 3 times now,,,what's 1 more..

you would think that since i am so short, things would not get enough momentum to do damage...

I am not adding water right now. I have 23% humidity, and will leave it like that until I candle. At least until day 10. I think. I am trying.

Now I want to add water, and raise humidity! I am still trying to decide, and now I am seriously doubting myself.
Wait a sec, are you in lockdown? Isn't 50-55 normal until then?
