I run humidity 30-40% until lockdown (still air) & then 40-70% for lockdown depending on what I'm hatching. Quail at 40-50%, chicks at 50-60% & waterfowl at 60-70%.I am not adding water right now. I have 23% humidity, and will leave it like that until I candle. At least until day 10. I think. I am trying. Now I want to add water, and raise humidity! I am still trying to decide, and now I am seriously doubting myself.![]()

Wait a sec, are you in lockdown? Isn't 50-55 normal until then?
Quote:Yeah, I am obsessed with my Temp and humidity now.. This was my morning routeen with the eggs: My Ex is staying with me for a few days.. and watch me like.. Umm ok, this is interesting!!OH you poor thing! you need to knit a sweater or a straight jacket because I know your gonna be a candling every day!![]()
As I suck out the old water though a fish tank tube.. ( what I prolly looked like) Then I have my baster pushed into this Fish tank tube, I had to cut the ends and wrap it around the baster to put the hot water back in!! Boy did i burn my fingers a little, I made that water pretty hot but the humidity was down to like 50-55.. ugh![]()
YAY! Hope they hatch well for you. I've only had 2 clear & 2 quitters out of the 25 I have set right now (& that's doing great considering my bator issuesYep, arrived yesterday,,all unpacked and resting, a couple are pretty shook up but otherwise look good, plan on setting either tonight or tomorrow morning.
Yes I am in lock down now, My humidity was steady @ 35% during most of the hatch.. I am just replacing water, not opening it any more, through that tube, hose, I was pretty good with it untill lock down, now I am like a hawk! Will run home at lunch again to checkI am not adding water right now. I have 23% humidity, and will leave it like that until I candle. At least until day 10. I think. Same here. As long as my humidity is above 25% for incubation I don't add any water until lockdown & then only as much as absolutely necessary.Sally will give me the third degree for this but here goes........I do not even measure humidity until lockdown and even then i only raise it to 55 or 60 very seldom going over that,,,I have no problems with shrink wrapped chicks,,,,actually it's the opposite for me, I drown alot of them..
Quote:As much as I hated my childhood, I miss Christmas Village. I went again about (gosh, I didn't realize it had been that long!) ten years ago. It SHRANK!!! Not near as great as it used to be. We still counted burnt out bulbs, and put the tally in the comment box.
That was my father's way of being sure we looked at everything.![]()
Now I am depressed. And, what do you mean, "idiots"?
Okay, some people do drive terribly. But it is the Pennsylvanians!!

MC you really counted bulbs? that's awesome! around here we think its funny so many come for that. With led lights, animations and stuff "now adays" that place is old and they never change it up. same old painted plywoaod and same stuff in the windows. lol I used to like taking the kids when they had a petting zoo now the thrill is how grumpy will the train conductor be!
