wish I could say the same for these call duck eggs,,,,getting a little worried, not seeing much movement....but then they are call ducks, never been able to hatch one yet.
I wish I could be home today in case there are any issues. Just happens that today, my wife is running a 5k, my daughter is running a 1mile, we are getting ready for a party, and we are having a joint birthday party for my kids. Daughter turns 4 today and my son turns 2 on the 25th. On top of it the LVLA exotic animal auction is today but my wife mentioned the word divorce if I go to the auction and not help get ready for the party.

Now please do not laugh at me, but at this point I do not think any of these calls are gonna hatch,,,,,as all of you know i have no trouble hatching chicks,, have hatched
pekin duck and swedish ducks with no problems, but when it comes to call ducks.....##**####*........I WILL BE ORDERING MORE.....Sorry but I do not take failure lightly, will keep putting call duck eggs into a bator untill I can hatch some........
Hubby just called me phycho, I am sure folks on here can understand this way of thinking....

This is not failure.....it is an opportunity to try again.....

I need a mad scientist hovering over incubator emoticon......

I have thesame issue with a certain chicken breed. I've spent enough money on eggs, I could have bought three flocks from Greenfire!

I will not give up! I will succeed! I will go crazy trying! (wait, I already have the crazy part down)

Has anyone used (and had success with) human hair clipping around the outside of their run to help detour predators and deer? My dad said they would use it on his grandparents' farm around the coop, and the house garden to keep deer away, but doesn't remember how well it worked. I have several friends who do hair so getting enough hair isn't an issue (I'll probably mix dog hair in with it), I just wonder if it'll really be worth the time and effort. Thanks in advance
I have used human & dog hair, did help w/the rabbits in the garden. As to what *Wing- said about urine, I've heard of that, some people really swear by it....I told DH he's not allowed...keep it in your pants!..oops..

My main run is going to be 10x6 and at least 5 ft high with a corrugated metal roof. There is also nothing better than embarrassing a child of any age Blarney. I have three kids myself and can't wait to see them cleaning up chicken poop. Lol

, I think it is part of the "parent - obligation" is to embarrass their children as much as possible..hahaha....hey, i know it might sound alittle cruel but, when your out with your "tween" or whatevee they are called now, you'll understand the meaning of "being trapped in a trunk w/ a rabid wolverine!"....those hormones are a bad world....hahaa,,yes, my girls still love us.
