air cells seem to be where they belong, but when i pop a little shell off to look in I am looking directly into yolk.........there's still some alive, I can hear them, but after seeing that one I opened and put back I decided to just wait it out for a day or 2, they are only on day 28 today........will wait awhile before checking again.......the 1 with the yolk showing is still doing good, I can see large veins and the yolk is moving......

this is kind of new to me, I do not interfere with hatches, If they do not hatch I will break a few open to look, then just trash the rest,,,,,,,
I'm betting temps a bit low & humidity a bit high. All of my ducks seem to hatch better when I run the bator .5-1 degree high. Calls do better with the lower humidity especially during incubation. Probably fat babies that can't get turned.

gonna make a stop on ebay today and buy some good thermometers and all,,,(I have crappy walmart ones )..see if these make a difference in the future.....
any opinions on good and bad ones.......yes folks wish me luck, I am going to ebay,,,,,must stay away from eggs ,,especially banties,,,,I am always drawn to them, but I have no place for them...

MC I thought of you today,,,,,when I went to stir the ff bucket it shot bubbles at me,,,,,,not sure if I was laughing at the bubbles or you....

first feeding of ff went well..

there's one of those round black rubber bowls under that pile of bids......I filled it with about 2 inches of ff,,,,,went back 15 minutes later and the bowl was empty,,,,,,,Think this went well.

Okay, I need to ask. What is "ff" ??

mentioned to father in law that I needed something to put the fermented feed in to feed them, cause the little bowl would not work well,,,,10 minutes later he handed me this....

I am so glad my inlaws do not get rid of anything,,,of course the piles show it, but now i appreciate it...

Ok all I have a coop ventilation question for ya. I am building my coop from scratch, it is 4x6x4. The way I have the roof set up there is approximately a 4 inch gap all along the rafters across the front and back along the 6' length. Will that be enough ventilation or will i also need to cut some in the sides of the coop as well? And on the other side of the coin, will that be too much ventilation in the winter here in Western PA? Any and all imput is appreciated.
