I'd probably treat for both because I'm a worry wort like that! Could really be either but thinking probably mites if it is crusty and stinky! Could always treat for them but if no progress then go to antibiotics! Hope she gets better soon! Also love what you did with your new coop! The pens look great and love the brooder so much room for all those chicks!

Yeah, I'd love to treat for both, but I can't. I did olive oil her ears, so hopefully that helps some.

Heather - How are you doing with your Cochins from Jamie? Mine is still sneezing after 6 days of Tylan. And now this hen w/ her ears...

This is what I have so far ...
A new mug to replace my broken one, and decals for a new coop... Either my husband is bringing a coop home on the motorcycle, or he has it stashed at someone's house. Since he can't get groceries on the bike, I am going with it is at someone's house. That and I have seen his truck. It wouldn't fit in there.
If anyone is looking for some layers, I need to minimize my flock(s). The breeds are in my profile. Mostly hatchery stock.
Any ideas on how to decide who to sell off if I go to a Chicken Swap? If someone here said, "I would like.." it is different. I can't just grab a large group, and sell them at once, though.

She has a year or 2 before she has to do the official project, but they were thinking about getting started this summer so they are not jumping into it when they need to do the project. Their plan is to have 2 to 4 chickens in a chicken tractor. I am going to get them to get on BYC so they can ask their questions instead of going through me. Any suggestions for me to help them get started?

Mine if fine. I gave her 2 injections over a 7 day period. That is the problem sometimes with antibiotics. If you use to much, you will get a bunch of unwanted secondary infections. Most injectable antibiotics stay in there system at a therapeutic level for at least 3 days.

Would Frontline work for ear mites? Dr. Peter ummm whatever his last name is, goes to all the local poultry shows, selling hi stuff...anyway he told me Frontline for dogs, just a drop under wings, behind head and above vent will get rid of worms and mites. Not sure if you'd have that in the house Revaugh, just a thought.
