I am actually I little exctied, my son brings home a book on Jim Henson to do a report on him! He was so excited and I was excited because he knows who Jim Henson is!! Perhaps I will help him make a Puppet to go with his report!! A Ryan Muppet!!

Hey guys i know there is a few hatching people here so I figured I'd ask. One of my Large fowl cochin hens went broody so I found 13 eggs of various breeds I have been drooling over to put under her. Twelve out of 13 hatched. Have never had that great of a shipped hatch rate! Anyway is that to many chicks for her to mother? She seems to be covering them just fine. She is just beside herself having all those little ones. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks! Kristen. Oh and ps I will take pictures later today:)

I told him I'll think about it and we need to be sure we have some roosters before we can even worry about it. "But Mom Roo's a rooster!" Next step is to explain breeds and why we can't just let them "have at it," this is gonna be fun....

the dark one is chocolate and copper colored. The red is our (prior) runt, Peanut. They were having issues figuring out the feed and water, so I put Peanut in to show them the ropes and they picked up on it pretty fast after he(?) showed them what to do.

I have some Porters birds coming in June. It occured to me a few weeks ago that turkey eggs look the same regardless of variety, so if I plan on breeding I can only keep one variety! :lol: There are 3 Narragansetts and 2 Blue palms coming with my order of Black Mottleds (Hopefully. Porter's has a back-up program where if they're running short on something, they'll substitute with something else. So Mottled Chocolates, Penciled Palms and regular Royals are the other possibilities that might come). I have a friend who wants the Blue Palms (she only needs a hen though, so they will be well started before they go) but I don't know what I'm going to do with the narries...If I end up re-selling them, I can keep you in mind...
