we leave in the morning to head to NY to get the new puppy. Will be a fun spring/summer showing the new little guy the ropes. Mindy is SSoooooo going to have her nose out of joint!!!
I LOVE THEM ALL SO MUCH!!! Can't wait to give them the chicken toys and treats I got them!!! We are all bonding and they come running to my hand! I have been wanting my favorite chickens back for so long!! Thank You!!!
Some of ours have done the same thing.... we finally figured the easiest way to get them to try something new is to sprinkle it with something old that you know they like... cantelope and watermelon both were used sort of as 'bowls' for corn or raisins.... you can also try always using the same bowl to feed treats in, ours got used to seeing goodies coming in small white trays (take out chinese containers, actually) Now if they even see me walk outside with a white tray in my hand I get mobbed.

And, guys, I am sorry. I know I have posted more than my share of pics this week with my babies being born, but I took these today while Lil Si and I were having cuddle time. This is the baby I brought home from TSC that I thought wasn't gonna make it. LOOK HOW GREAT HE/SHE IS DOING!!! Gettin better each day!!

I have some Porters birds coming in June. It occured to me a few weeks ago that turkey eggs look the same regardless of variety, so if I plan on breeding I can only keep one variety!
There are 3 Narragansetts and 2 Blue palms coming with my order of Black Mottleds (Hopefully. Porter's has a back-up program where if they're running short on something, they'll substitute with something else. So Mottled Chocolates, Penciled Palms and regular Royals are the other possibilities that might come). I have a friend who wants the Blue Palms (she only needs a hen though, so they will be well started before they go) but I don't know what I'm going to do with the narries...If I end up re-selling them, I can keep you in mind...I will have some hatching between the 2nd & 7th. Not sure how far you are but we may be able to relay some to you if you don't find any before then. I also have call eggs & they turkeys (blue slates) should lay soon since they were laying before moving here yesterday. The geese have gotten back to laying already like they never had a car ride.\
