Quote: When Every Monday , where Eighty four PA, Can't remember exact will look it up for you. Atlest the name of the road it is on., what & how please Pretty much everything goes, Plants animals and junk.. I've never been there but am less than an hour away. Much closer for me than driving all the way to Mt Hope all the time.
Best to get there early to drop off there is a cut off time for each category just can't remember. Got lots of great plants in May. They once sold a 55 gallon aquarium with wooden stand almost new for $30. Outside is a feamarket. Did i answer everything? Will get road asap.
For the flea market: Are you allowed to set up there to sell poultry or does it have to go through the auction. I like to have control of prices on my birds. I don't want to get $1-2 out of a bird when I have $15-30 in it.

Eighty Four Auction Sales, Rt 136 Po Box 116, Eighty Four, PA
Thank you!

Quote: Exactly. When I'm in a hurry it's whatever I grab 1st & if people don't like it they don't have to look. Now if I'm doing more than running to the PO to drop packages or Wal-Mart to grab bread & milk or Lowes to grab a box of nails that we just ran out of then yea, I look for some decent clothes. Not like I go in a restaurant in my jammies. But to just grab something in the middle of working, I take off the dirty holey clothes, rinse off & stick on the 1st clean thing I find so I can run out, run back, switch back to the dirty clothes & get back to work. Be happy I bothered to change.

I can't keep track of the number of times I've run to Lowes or somewhere like that covered in paint or dirt to get something to finish what I'm working on. Poo is different story, but dirt or paint I DON'T CARE!!! Don't like it, don't look or better yet take a pic to share on POW (people of walmart)

Quote: LOL...we are remodeling right now so I pretty much HAVE to hose off to even get in the car. We are ripping out walls & ceilings upstairs & there was an old slate roof on the house at some point in time. You come down totally covered in black dust. It's straight to the shower & throw the clothes in the washer before even going anywhere else.

All animals must be run through the auction. That has been my understanding. Never seen any outside for sale. Depending on the chicken you can get decent prices. My RIR Roos went for $5 and $6 dollars each. So just depends.

Hey pennsylvanians!

I have posted a free-to-good-home ad in the other forum for my three hens.
I have an unexpected move looming a couple of months out, and will not be able to take my girls with me. They are 2.5 y/o, one is a speckled sussex, one a blue polish, and the other a production red.
I'm not sure how to link to the other thread, but it's labeled with SE PA - 19473.

Please take a look and help me find a good home for three good hens!
Hello!

Sorry to hear you have to rehome your birds... hope you find a great place for them!

You mean that isn't how everyone lives? Here all this time I thought that was normal and everyone lived like that!

Seriously, I get dressed, but I am known to just straighten out my bun from the day before and skip the gum. I have more important things to do than to worry about how I look. As long as I am in clean clothes and I don't stink, I am happy.

BTW... I am on horse duty today. On Monday mom's horse finally started showing definite signs of strangles and had a fever. I spent all day with her and the horse. Mom had to go to work today, so I am doing the hot compresses and watching for the lumps to burst. Just how I wanted to spend my day. So far, just seepage... I am dreading the mess that comes with this.

I am so glad I am not the one that has to bleach everything after this! Moments like this, I am glad I don't have a horse, too!
Sorry to hear about the horse... I don't miss that part of having them. They are magnificent creatures in so many ways but they take a lot of time and are really difficult when sick.
Worth it if you have a job or home life that allows you to do it, but not for everyone.

As long as I am reasonably clean I don't pay much mind, I do make sure I don't have poo on my shoes and stuff like that.
You are probably finding coal dust from years ago... it is black and actually can be kind of greasy. When I get into it I usually add some Dawn Dish soap to the washer, run clothes through first wash, then reset washer, add regular laundry soap and run it through a regular wash. That coal dust is a pain to get out!
