I could not fit the geese in the car, so I only took my 4 KC girls, 6 ducklings, my three Delaware hens and my mottled Bantam Cochin pair. We did not buy anything! I wanted doves, goslings and he wants a Mandarin drake. Nothing made it back in the car! Whoot! Happy with myself on that. I was guilt tripped into the 50/50 drawing - I bought a single ticket. Wouldn't you know it, I (or as Dewey would like to say, we) won. Almost all of it went right back into chicken stuff (meds, meal worms, feed and oyster shell).

It was great talking to BirdsByGavin and Cskotec today! Great chicken day - glad I went because it got my mind off everything for awhile.

(No more chick casualties today, either!)

Help, I have limping chicken. I can't see that anything is wrong with her leg/foot except the limp. Don't know if the rooster was too hard on her, dog chased her or something else... Any thoughts? Or suggestions what I should do? Thanks!!

i don't know that I can be much help other than to say I've had this same thing happen, more than once. I would check, and re-check for bumble foot to no avail. I kind of think these hens were having trouble laying? But I've never been certain, the good news was that they eventually recovered, and I hope the same for you.

I am getting VERY close to finishing the coop I've been working on. Working on the run. Still need a roof, door, and ramp to coop, but I'm so close, I can almost taste it! Hardware cloth on every inch of run. My hand is aching from stapling.
