I too use stark, great quality. I've also gotten some from Miller Nursery (I think they are in NY)
Ditto on Stark: I got asparagus, horse radish and rhubarb....quality was good and so was the customer service.

I am going to try and better picture tomorrow. Being new to chickens and all I feel dumb asking stuff. Lol!
Hey I like your run. At first glance I think pullet, although she's pretty young for having such a pink comb. Boys will have more rows of peas on their comb, I can't tell from your pic if there are 3 prominent rows or not. Also, if you fan out her wing and see mahogany in the coverts, that is another sign of a boy.
I love to decorate but I'm learning as I go. Just did my first tiered cake with marshmallow fondant for my daughters candy land birthday. Once the kids are older I would love to take a class but for right now it's private lessons via Youtubeanyone else decorate cakes here?

Quote: Don't feel dumb. We all had the same questions you do now. Some of us have been doing this for a year or so, and still are not sure if we are doing things "right".
If nothing else, PM someone. That way only one person knows your question.
Quote: My fiance has been squawking all weekend because I left him at home "to do everything all on his own" while I was at a swap meet all weekend. Trust me, he had it easier than I did. At least he got to sleep.![]()
Looks like a young roo trying to do the "wing dance" for a hen.
My pekins always seem to start popping a day or 2 early & my runners go about a day late.got some pekin eggs poppin.....keeping fingers crossed on the runners, they are not doing much so far...
From the comb, I'm going to say boy.
Quote: No such thing as a dumb question. That's the only way to learn.![]()
