some of you say cat food for a treat,,,might seem silly but most cat food is either chicken or fish....wouldn't fish change the egg taste, and cicken flavored just has other issues.

It doesn't seem to affect taste in the quantities you'd use. Even Fertrell includes fish and crab meal in their feed recipes. I do know there's a certain (forgotten by me) percentage that you're not supposed to exceed in a formula cause it does affect taste, but it was high enough not to worry about.

I am so upset right now. My silver laced wyandottes killed my speckled sussex hen Pebbles. Pebbles was broody. I gave her eggs to my silkie that is broody also. I am so upset I was to get rid of my entire flock of slw. They are the meanest chickens in the world. They will kill any new chickens.
Wow that's awful none of my wyandottes I have ever owned had a mean bone in there body.

This is so sad, I'm sorry.

on the wyandottes. how were they introduced to the flock ? did they grow together to form a flock or added later ? hatchery birds or from a breeder ? was the broody injuried or weak in anyway? with this i can help you as to why they did this.

Everyone is having picnics. The first six are for a hungry teen boy, his father is into masonry and his mother. The second six is for 2 families, one has two hungry teens.

Barbie, I am sorry.

My slw were the first chickens I got as 2 month old pullets, 5 hens and 1 rooster. I got them all together at one time. I got them from Country Junction, not sure where they got their chickens from. My broody was in good health. My hubby told me that the slw were picking on her when she came out to get some water and food this weekend. I have been sick (still have stomach bug from Friday). Last year my silkie went broody and she was fine with her. They did kill a chick when it got out from momma. I added my other chickens through the year last year whethey were young. Lost a slw hen, think 2 weeks ago. Ma
ybe they killed her too.

I use .5 ml on adult LF birds, .25ml on adult bantams & LF juveniles, .1 ml on bigger LF chicks & juvenile bantams & just a drop on little chicks. Then I clean out all of the bedding, spray floors & walls with permethrin or Sevin dust & replace with fresh bedding. I never put permethrin or Sevin directly on the birds or where they dust bathe. Within 24-48 hours all crawlies are dead & gone.

Now ivomecin given externally only does mites and such right?? If that is the case there is no hold off on eggs?? Want to worm my birds but not sure how I want to do it yet. Have wazine but don't know if I should go that route! Any input from anyone is apperciated!

So sweet!
Ibuprophren on an empty stomach = no bueno. Tylenol w/coffee to start a headache day...works for me...uh, sometimes.
Wasn't someone just looking for Jersey Giants on here? Wish I could remember who.
