Is this in the Nj sussex county fair grounds? I will look it up on facebook. Thanks missy. I remember going to the sussex county fair grounds with my aunt when I was little, I grew up in Nj, city girl lol. My aunt used to do flea markets, she set up a table at the fair grounds and took me with her. I would go look at all the animals. Never in a million years would have thought I would have chickens.

Yes, that's where it is.

I am a newbie here but I just want to drop a post here. I live on a small farm and have about 40 chickens and an odd lot of guineas. I'm in the central PA area, Columbia county. Hello!

Welcome, this is where the crazy chicken people meet.

Hey everybody! I have some extra cockerels I am looking to part with if anyone is interested. My wife and kids won't let me eat them, so they gotta go somewhere else. I am looking to get rid of 1 pure black Australorp and 2 EE'S. one of the EE'S has curled toes so I would think he would be no good for breeding but might make a fine dinner. They are all about 14 weeks old I think, hatched February 28th. I am keeping 1 Australorp for my flock. I live in Westmoreland county / Irwin area. Let me know if anyone is interested in picking them up. Thanks.

woot! just got a raise at work

Remember the tub plucker I ordered about 2 months ago,,,well hubby got a phone call shortly after we ordered it,,,apparently they sold way more than they had, and was asking people if they could wait a month, they offered $75 dollars back,,,so of course hubby said sure.....well it is finally in my hands now,,,and like a child i really want to try this toy out.. it is bright and shiny and has a motor,,,what more could a girl want.

I need an education on Cream Legbars.....here's the wiki definition: The Cream Legbar is an autosexing type of chicken. This means that you can tell the sex of the chick at hatch, and they breed true. The Cream Legbar originated as a cross between Brown Leghorns and Barred Rock with some Araucana blood in them. This is reflected in the crest and the blue eggs that they lay. The egg colour is usually blue, though some will give olive eggs

so,

1 why are they soooooo expensive...? none of the breeds that they are made up of are that rare.....
2. since this 'breed' is a hybrid of other breeds...does it really breed true ?

and I remember somebody mentioning purple eggs....anybody know anything about them?

Thanks in advance!

Stay safe everyone. I remember when I first moved to the Poconos we had a tornado warning. The tv kept telling me to go into the basement. I was all alone, didn't know anyone and pregnant. I grabbed my dog and cat and went to hide in the basement. I was scared. My hubby came home and yelled what's for dinner? I was shaking in the basement when he came home. He just laughed at me. :(
