the chocolate orp chicks interest me

I decided to keep the LFs. Seems the boys aren't doing their job very well. Otherwise, the bantams are available. $20ea straight run.

can you pm me a price on the mixed ducks (what is the mix) and possible turkeys,,, a little earlier than I planned to put turkeys in but if you got them at a good price...

Sorry, quickly catching up no time to PM. Rouen, Swede & Pekin mix and pure Pekins. $8ea (2 and 3wks old now). Turkeys are BBBs and $12 each. Will be 3wks old by swap.

Here is my new site I am trying to promote. I have been so busy lately but I do miss chatting chicken with you all. It seems the new house, job, and kids (the dogs and chickens, lol) have been taking up a great deal of my life. I am starting up my incubator with some of the Serama eggs. In about 5 to 6 weeks when they are feathered out, they can be adopted by their new mommies and daddies and families. I plan on asking only $50 to $75 each for them at that age since the are valued by both size and color. Theprice difference will be upon color which will be visible when they get their feathers. The only thing I will not be able to tell is which class size they will finish at and of course gender. Almost all of my Seramas are class B, leaving only Golding (golden roo) and Anna (silver iwth yellow legs) asmy only two class C Seramas.
If you look me up on facebook, its Stephanie Johns, my profile picture. Let me know throught any way if anyone is interested in a tiny Serama. My location is Western PA, also will have some brahma and cohin chicks hatched as day olds real soon for $3 each.

I will not be able to go to the swap but if anyone in York is going and wouldn't mind helping me a little bit i may have some birds that could go. The turkeys, are you able to tell their gender yet? And would you want any ducklings as a trade? If not that is fine maybe i could meet whoever is going to the swap and give them the money and a cage. Oh speaking of a cage, lol if i can find someone, what size cage will they need for say 2 turkeys? Would like to get a male and female if possible . I know that is alot of questions but if anyone can help please let me know. And if anyone else wants some ducklings please let me know. I can take pics of them. Oh i am also interested in a gosling or two. Maybe a male and female... Please

doing some of those meaties this afternoon,,,,,,,just gotta try the new toys out today,,,went and got a turkey fryer for the water scalding..........amazing, i have been doing this most of my life and somehow this seems different just because of the new toys and i can now do the whole process outside.....no more in and out of the house to keep water hot.......wonder if i could fry one of those chickens just like a turkey.

About that Turkey fryer. A lot of new one have a safety that shuts them of after about 20 minutes. A real problem depending what you use it for. Most can be taken apart and disabled, look on the internet.
You didn't hear it from me.

Quote: I did that to my Dad's too...and had had a similar punishment

I am and have been trying to quit also. It is so not easy!
Thanks for the support. Other than the lady I'm in contact with at the quit help thing, and my son (warning him not to push his luck with me since I know my temper will be worse than normal), this is the first I've said about trying again. It seems like whenever I try and fail I get ripped a new one by family, some of which have quit smoking for various reasons. (Mom was her first try, same with the one aunt, but it took my Dad 20+ yrs of trying.) Like I've told the in-laws, I hate the smell and taste of cigs, but I can't seem to kick them.

Daylight picture.... Roo or hen? Got as a chick in April labeled red New Hampshire. The problem I'm finding is the New Hampshire hens also have good size red combs and waffles.
Looks like my New hampshire boys, my girls have much smaller combs, and only tiny wattles. I got mine mid April.
Here's pics of my one boys and 2 of my girls:

Copper and one of my BCM girls, haven't named her yet.
Jäger won't hold still for a pic, and he may be going to freezer camp. He's been picking on everyone today, even his group of girls....I'm not happy with him right now.

Welcome!
Nothing to do with chickens BUT is bird related ... Wth is with the birds around here, my yard looks like some crazy bird porn set *insert bizarre look here*
LMAO. We have that, and a rabbit porn set on the other side of the yard right now...Gavin is certainly learning more about "the birds and the bees," or I guess it would be the birds and the bunnies...
Hey, anyone ever make a coop for their ducks with skids? Or is that too ghetto? I have a bunch of mixed ducklings and they are outgrowing their temporary pen.
I was going to try that. I saw it on the coop/run forum. Looks like a great idea, and recycling is always a good thing. my ducks are using an old dog house right now.

I'm sure you can fry them the same way, I actually want to try it too. I just need to get the right size pot, mine is too shallow for frying but worked great for the scalding. Although I doubt it will work for a turkey come the fall season, provided I get one. This next season will be my first time trying for turkey, I usually one go out for deer, rabbit and squirrel.

I need to cut back to make room for up and coming juniors.
I am offering from my Ameraucanas LF:
Trio of 2 black split hen one is less than a year old the other is 2 maybe 3(both are laying). Roo is a Lavender about 8 to 12 weeks old.
