Thanks everyone for all the feedback! I did not know this, so good information, and not disliking breeders as much now! lolI cull hard, I am breeding to the breed standards. I sell my culls or breeder hens to folks to use for eggs. I sell my cull roosters at auction, or have people come to the farm to pick up. I keep only the ones I think are the best, to improve the breed. I don't kill them. I can't say what other people's definition is of culling. I don't think mine is to far off from the majority.
Hey everyone, how's it going? I had surgery to get my wisdom teeth out today and spent the afternoon sleeping and then chowing down on old people food while the Novocaine was wearing off.. except I have the appetite of a growing boy and couldn't resist eating some Arby's.Hope I don't regret it.![]()
And we got this tiny little egg today! I can't tell if it's just a fart egg or if one of our teenagers is an early bloomer. The only one anywhere near old enough is our bantam Pippa and I think she's somewhere around 13 or 14 weeks? Is that too early to lay an egg? We've never gotten fart eggs from our hens before and it's been over two years. Here's a comparison. The egg on the right is either an EE or red sex link egg. I forget.![]()

On another note, I don't think I'm on the community map yet so my zip is 15673.
For a minute, I thought that was a picture I took once. It was a fart egg. It was all soft and squishy. I dissected it and there was a little chunk of something in it.Hey everyone, how's it going? 1st day of summer vacation for my son and I have to take my son to work with me, Why you ask, because the pervert boys, 11 or 12 year olds next door decided to make him feel so uncomfortable by showing there private areas.... What is wrong with these kids.. I spoke to the one boys mother,... she apologized, but i swear if my son tells me they did that again, I will embarrass them something fierce. I doubt the mother even said anything..First day of summer vacation for my boys! Now what to do with them so they aren't bored. One day we have to make it to Knoebels!![]()

I would turn into a freaking bridzilla on her ***!!!! That is craziness!! (nods head)So glad you were able to figure stuff out AND keep the Sportsman lol. Really I am glad you were able to figure stuff out though, so is Gavin. He heard more than I thought the other day and asked if we'd be able to come over again as we were heading home.
That's a good idea about the rant! So here goes: My sister is getting engaged to a man she met online around the beginning of MAY, yes this past May, and has met in person once. That isn't what is bothering me (surprisingly), it's that they've picked a date less than 2 months after my wedding. Here's why it's bothering me: we have a lot of family that live far away FL, MT, NC, TX ect. I'm worried that they will have to choose which wedding to come to because of the timing, and I don't think that's fair to them (or us as the brides). Maybe I'm being petty, but it's gotten deep under my skin. Maybe it is that they are moving so fast, maybe it's the date, maybe it's that she's 9 yrs younger and in a relationship similar to what I was with Gavin's bio-donor (big difference is this guy has a son and is very involved in the childs life, which is a great thing.) I don't know for sure, it's just under my skin.
"You talkin to me? You Talking to ME? LOLz And OMG He is GORGEOUS!!!!!
Time to go on Jerry!! JERRY!! JERRY!! JERRY!! - Bridezilla her butt!! lolIt is next year, but she wants to put money down to hold the place now. Mine's March 22 (I have 2 contracts to sign and everything will be booked), and she said her's (according to her) will be May 3. We're hoping to talk them into waiting until fall of next year, it'd be better for the guests. From my point of view at least.
