Errrr...isn't that what they're called? :hide Or is there some other terminology for abnormally small eggs?

This egg appears to be normal...just super duper tiny. It's hard-shelled with little extra flakes of calcium on it. My mom thinks it's too cute and doesn't want to crack it open, but I want to know what it looks like inside!

Now that I think about it, I have had one with a hard shell as well. As I recall, they both just had a tiny chunk of flesh surrounded by egg white. No yolk.

Other than fart egg, they are also called wind eggs. I think there is another name as well but I forget what it is.

Good lord rose. In today's world they (the neighbor's kids) can be charged with sexual assualt and indesent exposure. The mom should take it seriously before the police get involved!

Yeah the BF keeps talking about a fence.. Starting to think that is not a bad idea... I felt so bad for him.. He hasn't been playing with them recently either. Which after hearing that, is fine by me... I did have it set up for her to watch Ry for a few weeks this summer. That is not going to happen. I guess the Y for a few weeks instead or someone to watch him here.. not sure will have to figure that all out! Sigh.. KIDS!!

now you need two more duckies right? I have just the two! and they both look brown color schemes, they are both amazing with colors and pattern
Look like they will probably be chocolate pied but with a lot of chocolate & very little white.

Hey everyone, how's it going? I had surgery to get my wisdom teeth out today and spent the afternoon sleeping and then chowing down on old people food while the Novocaine was wearing off.. except I have the appetite of a growing boy and couldn't resist eating some Arby's.

Hope I don't regret it.

And we got this tiny little egg today! I can't tell if it's just a fart egg or if one of our teenagers is an early bloomer. The only one anywhere near old enough is our bantam Pippa and I think she's somewhere around 13 or 14 weeks? Is that too early to lay an egg? We've never gotten fart eggs from our hens before and it's been over two years. Here's a comparison. The egg on the right is either an EE or red sex link egg. I forget.

On another note, I don't think I'm on the community map yet so my zip is 15673.
Yep, fart egg.

It just happens when the egg system backfires & sends out a tiny egg with little or no yolk.

Quote: Dwarf egg, fairy egg, cock egg or luck egg also.

Yup, fart eggs, and mine only had white in them.

The little piece of flesh or blood that you can sometimes find in eggs is ovarian tissue from the chicken. Now to make you really feel blech...I have a friend who grew up on an egg farm (only egg layers, not meat chickens) they would send the blood eggs to the bakeries! Apparently they like them as they are higher in protein, therefore make fluffier/richer cakes/breads...etc.

Thank you Missy & Silkie for explaining. I do feel better now that I know. Really, it does make a difference. But...wow, bakeries would/could use them...okay...I can deal with that.

I know there are worse things...
