I LOVE FRIED OKRA!!! Need some collards....Oh baby...collards, salt pork, red pepper flakes and bacon drippings!  And some fatback just because! And some fresh cornbread! And some FRESH grits with salt, pepper and butter topped with a sprinkling of cheddar cheese......Sorry just had a moment

I can see that Porkchop's days are numbered.

I've been trying to catch up on the posts...but can NOT. Not sleeping much as I am checking on the baby goats at all hours of the night. Man OH man are they ever cute!

I need to post some baby pictures.

You make me feel good! I just like doing crafty stuff. Wanna see? Here is the fruit baby I made for the baby shower.

Oh, and here is the diaper cake I made for a gift.

It's about 90 diapers and all the little decorations are baby things the mommy will need or toys.
Very Snazzy
Those are just awesome!!! I love the diaper cake idea!

Trying to make my centerpieces for the wedding right now, I'll try to post a pic once I get one done. Hopefully they turn out the way I'm envisioning them...
I made the centerpieces, and all the flower arrangements for mine. It's a Pain but rewarding
Good afternoon everyone, a friend of mine has a free range flock and is looking to expand it. Let me know if you have hatching eggs for any of these breeds. Thanks!

Gamefowl
Wellsummer
Lakenvelder
Hamburg
Appenzellers
Barnevelders
That's a heck of a shopping list!
Ummmmm...not ALL of us are in PA...LOL I'm 10 miles over the border in Ohio!!!
Yeah we don't count you....kinda like a dandelion in the garden....eventually it's part of the yard

Hi! i cant post in BST forums, but i'm looking to buy pullets.
I am in Oxford, PA..
I have access to Reds from some local amish, but I have two reds, and I prefer something else. We have orps too.

Message me if you are near oxford with pullets you would like to sell. We'll come pick them up if youre not ridiculously far away..
What kinds of pullets are you looking for?
Bator is warmed up and holding steady. Adding water tomorrow to test humidity.

getting excited!!!
Wanna fire mine up and get it set too?
Yeah, was having one of those days today.

hugs!! Hope the evening gets better for you.
It's ok...sometimes life has to slow down for you to catch your breath lol
Yep! Hope you are ok!!
All's well

Try letting them out later after they have laid. Only other idea would be to put golf balls in the nest box & see if they want to add to the nest.
I need to find some old golf balls. Thanks for the tip! Oh, and I swear I have the only 2 silkies that won't go broody! So frustrating!
Tomorrow I am going to see Blarneyeggs set up! I am psyched. I am hoping to get some pullets soon. If I have to wait until spring..........I think it will be a long time. I also have to actually build the coop..........but the planning and materials acquisitioning is advancing nicely! I got some pine boards...........One concern is that pine is such a soft wood...........I am worried that if I attach hardware cloth to pine boards a hungry predator might just break thru anyway...........what do you all think? I may have a heavier sturdier board or log at the bottom--------------- Hmm..........
I seen some really cool pallet coops on Pinterest. I will see if I can find a picture. Seemed pretty easy to make and you might be able to get some free pallets. Good luck!
Bator is warmed up and holding steady. Adding water tomorrow to test humidity. :) getting excited!!!
Tomorrow is day 18 for me!!!!!!!! Power went out last night for a few hours. Woke up at 3 am to the baby crying and check the baton. Temp was down to 80. I candled tonight and all but one still look good.
A little bit of everything!! :) I have Isbars, cream legbars, double laced blue barnvelders, crele pendesenca, wellsummer, basque, and Mille fleur leghorns. :D just a few eggs of each kind.
I keep hearing about these cream legbars. I might have to add them to my wish list. Good luck!
Do you ever just feel blah?

Yep, I hate those days. Luckily things usually seem better the next day. Hope tomorrow is a better day.

I do have some big plans for porkchop! My favorite cut of meat.....can you guess it? And it's not the eyeballs! Although they really are not bad over an oak fire with some East carolina bbq sauce. Kinda pop in your mouth with the consistency of hubba bubba with a juicy center. Thinking hams, shoulders ( I cook them low and slow and do a lil trick I learned from an Irish fella...it has to do with butter, bacon, whiskey and velvetta cheese) Mmmmmm fatback, ribs, bacon, make some scrapple and sausage.

The Jowl is my favorite cut! Such a sweet and tender under appreciated cut of meat from the cheek!

Yep...hope things get better
Quote: That was my first guess, so many think it's weird but I love it too. Gonna try my hand at stuffed beef heart and tongue soon, FIL gave them to me from the most recent cow, and a lot of the liver!!! MMMM liver and onions

Now I know where this round of boilermakers are leading tonight...the freezer then the stove. (Gavin's staying with family so it's all good. I don't drink in front of him except maybe a beer or mixed drink when we go out to eat, just to be clear)

Mmm I love those too! Beef heart cooked soft with a nice brown gravy! And there's a pub in Watsontown that has as a pub nibbler pickled beef tongue with crackers.

bless me father for I have sinned....its been 14 pages since my last post....*yesterday at 4:00p",,,,,LisaY stopped by to look at the chooks and can now visit Blarney for real inspiration....

Feral cats are not good for anyone,,,,you might try the public heath as a way of getting them removed, but, it might be easier just to do it yourself....maybe the SPCA can help? ....

and about gardening.....I grow better grass in the garden than in the yard....it beats me how I can give a 4" veggie a 'head start' on the weeds and two weeks later the veggie(s) are overrun....is crab grass edible?

Have a good day all!
Yes!! Tomorrow is my turn with Lisa. She has such nice things to say about your set up…now I'm nervous. She's going to learn a bit of 'what NOT to do' at my place.
Do you ever just feel blah?
