the other day when I came across some Lavander Araucana eggs on ebay and bid/won them.

Only to find out, it is not an acceptable color and most of the eggs are actually green not the blue that the breed is suppose to lay

, I should have checked that, my fault. So my hopes for quality pure breed breeder stock of a flock is dwindling fast.....Now I am waiting on some English Orps from MA and some BCM from a hobbiest in Hershey. I was going for a colorful egg basket but now IDK.

If you purchased via PayPal from eBay, aren't you covered by protection? If the seller claimed that they were something they're not, you may be entitled to a refund. That doesn't help your eggs...but maybe you could get others?

I can't have these guys getting lose.....
oh no! I did see a clipping wings demo in the learning center articles, I think................of course I have never done such a thing.................they said it is painless....

Hope they all make it home safely-------they are awesome birds!

:thumbsup , we have green beans, kentucky wonder beans, christmas beans, green peppers, okra, cow pea's(i am a Southerner  after all) ghost & peter peppers for hot peppers, potato's, onion, both white and purple, carrots, squash, corns, and probably somewhere about 75 tomato plants, both for canning and for table, not to mention all my herbs and mints, we also grow horseradish and comrey

Wow! Incredible! I am very envious.

Blarney,,,
Let me know if you have any of those little boys left over,,,and if we could work out a deal ( straw, barley, wheat, corn...my first born )

I went through and hit the quote button but had to take a break to make lunch for the kiddos....now they disappeared! Ugh.

Today is day 19 for my eggs which means I do nothing but stare at them. I promised the kids we would go somewhere since it was raining this morning and have yet to make it out the door.

I found a solution for my silkie who kept laying her eggs in a bucket out in the yard. I moved the bucket into the coop and now she lays them in there. Not sure why I have the hubby make nice nest boxes when a old bucket will do!!! lol.

I have to clip the scovy's wings. I watched a video on you-tube to figure it out, it's really not that hard, you just clip the flight feathers back to the length of the other ones. Only clip one wing so they can't get lift. Repeat every 6 weeks or so as needed.
