Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Who are you quoting here? I wonder if they cover my area? Greg Martin (poultry doc in Lancaster County) told me no free-range with NPIP. But I guess if someone else was doing the NPIP inspection, someone who allows free range....hmmmmm

Welcome back Reyvaugh, Maggie is one pretty horse!

Silkiesensations!! Pepper is adorable, looks like a good buy to me.

Wing, your pictures are amazing. Love your place!

We have tonight off, so we may be going to the Green Dragon.

ahem, Blarney:

A night off includes:pizza, beer, movies, margaritas...maybe smores and jello shots and perhaps large amounts of red or white wine.....hope your night off is a good one.....

well, I should be getting a young CCL roo on Monday morning...I'm told his crow is not too loud....so I'll be looking for the CCL pullets and maybe a BCM pullet....since I clipped my current girls wings,,,,they all give me the stink eye if I get too close...even food doesn't motivate them....

I have a few Muscovy hens available if anyone is interested. My pen is getting too full & I need to make room for the other colors I have growing out. Duplicate colors are being sold.

I post on here & craigslist & facebook. I actually get a lot of sales from here & craigslist. Just started posting on facebook, so we shall see. If would be interested in Guineas (maybe) depending on age & colors & price.

$45 was actually about twice what I planned on since I was after bottle babies & they sold them with the mommas instead. I wanted 2 or 3 but only had money for 1 because of the way they sold. The bottle babies usually go for $5-25.

Pepper is spoiled already...lol
Not sure about PA, but we are allowed to free range with NPIP in Ohio.

You only get in trouble if you get caught. I have been NPIP for over a year, yet have only ever sent paperwork with 1 set of eggs & only then because they requested it. I have shipped birds & only written my NPIP number on the inside flap of the box & nowhere else, no paperwork attached or anything & they all got there fine. It's usually not monitored at all, but if it does happen to get checked then you could be in trouble.

They will be 10-12 weeks old before it even starts to actually get cold. They will be fine. I toss mine outside with no heat as early as 3-4 weeks once temps are staying above 40F at night.
no, i don't have guinea keets, what i raise are the english parakeets, house birds, sorry for not saying it plainer, i forget sometimes that there are all kinds of keets

Im looking for anyone in the washington pa area that is selling nice looking silkie rooster and houdan rooster, ready for breeding

Thanks for the info on the auctions. I may check out the 84 auction, assuming it is in or near 84. That is only about 40 minutes from me.
yes, about the same for us, its about 9 miles before little washington , be careful right now at the exit, they're working on the road, (when aren't they)
go toward 84, when you hit the light at 136, turn left, go about 3 or 4 miles, on left, humane society is on right, not hard to find, starts about nine with flower, veggie plants, then goes into tons of junk, then veggies, eggs, poultry, rabbits, small stuff in other words, then they take a break to eat and start with the big animals.

She was $45, which was more than I wanted to pay. I was after bottle babies & they kept selling them all with the mothers instead of separating them. I was getting ticked so just grabbed the next doe that came out so I could leave. JJ & the kids were on my last nerve. Next time they all stay home & I go alone!!! Yep, men like junk. I'm still moving in with you...LOL Meet Pepper Mt Hope, OH...2 hours from me further northwest. Starts at 11:00am on Wednesdays. With his acting like a jerk, being unemployed, making idiotic accusations, etc. she & the kids are most likely better off without him. Help her get on her feet & send her & them to a new home of their own (even if it's gov't assisted housing so she can afford it). You need your space too & it's always difficult to combine households. I'm not mean, just practical. I've tried living with my parents as an adult with kids of my own (kids are still at home so haven't had any return with their kids yet) & it was a disaster. I no longer even speak to said set of parents due to all of the crap they pulled while I was there. Not saying you can't get along, it's just hard on everyone involved.
I think that got confused....It doesn't get any better if I give names, as DH and step-son have the same name. They've lived with us before....we just make sure we are busy and do things outside the house. Will miss running around in my skivvies though.
I am lost with all the steps,,,,what does your family tree look like...mine looks more like a bush than a tree
MY family tree is normal looking.....DH's family tree is confusing! There are 5 grandkids, 3 from Dad A, 2 from Dad B. Dad B has 2 children from previous relationship. Mom of those 2 is the sister of Dad A. So kids are basically their own cousins.....Stepdaughter married Dad B. Then divorced him.....then moved in with him...back in with us...back in with him....back in with us....back in with him...now back in with us...but my DH went over to help her pack today and told them they both need to put on their big girl/boy panties and learn to GASP talk to one another. They say they are...we'll see...
Hello all! The new baby goat looks awesome..................I cant believe you can buy a goat for $45? I know nothing about raising goats etc...............this is all new.....I just find the whole thing fascinating! I am happy to report I have taken a reciprocating saw to the dresser and taken out the inner wall, built an exit , and a sliding door for that exit. I also have made 2 sliding floor boards for cleaning purposes..............and a sort of ladder for entering nest box and roost. I am now rehydrating...........having lunch and then an afternoon of painting! this coop and run building is hard work! that's my update------ Maybe I will have some pictures later---------------my carpentry skills are very lacking -------yet I am still rather happy with my progress.............it seems like it will work
Umm...lacking carpentry skills and you made sliding floors???? You're miles ahead of me. My carpentry skills involve a checkbook.
:weee 10 BCM 21 Araucana and 2 EE....... Now the hard part, the wait.....:barnie
I'm jealous but it's past time for babies here...
