Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

I think socks. I have afghans coming out my ears (very painful, I assure you!). Socks I think people can always use.

Funny image MCC. I was thinking socks too. You could also blow out some eggs and have Gavin decorate the shells for Christmas ornaments.

not sure how old the nieces are............but leg warmers might also be fun! or scarves................very trendy and stylish! have fun!
4, 6, 10, and 12.
Scarves and hats or socks

My vote for girlie gifts are "mittens"....

Love my hand knitted soft scarves, actually a great gift from my MIL, and I think I score points when she sees me wearing it.
I have a great afghan from her too, but can't bring mysf to use it much... Once it gets near the dog his short stiff black hair gets in the white fibers and its all over...

I'm must be strange (OK, I am). I don't put my chickens in when it storms. Their coop is always open during the day, they actually seem to like to come out in the rain. I think its cooling, or they just take after me and are strange.
Mine refuse to go in during storms, so I gave up trying to get them in after the third time I got soaked.
Geez.. this heat must be making people even more crazy than normal!
They are looking for a man who they believe to be suicidal. They found his truck down the road from me
It must be. There was a guy just up river last week that had 2 (yes 2) standoffs with police. One on a bridge where he was threatening to jump, and the second was at his apartment.
I know it isn't chicken related but I just about had coke come out my nose when i saw this on my facebook lol

LMAO!!! Now I wanna watch Jaws.
My MiL has several free iBooks for crochet patterns. Best sellers! Not sure how old your nieces are but she made my girls headbands with detachable flowers so they can match them to their outfits. Indoor snowball kit. They played with it all winter! A poncho for me and the girls (ill post a pic of one similar. Don't have any of the ones she made and I packed them away for the summer). Love the scarves and mittens she made for us.

(each bad has crocheted snowballs. The kids love it. The pattern is in her free iBook posted on her site)
Not her pattern but the inspiration for the one I wanted

Here are some more pictures I found. She made the hats and the headbands with the detachable flowers

And I found one picture of my older daughters poncho

Just some ideas! Her books and website have a ton of cute things

Thanks everyone for the ideas! I think I'll give them a couple options and ask them to pick two, that way it can still be somewhat of a surprise. As far as I know I'm the only one in the entire family who knits or crochets (even gram in-law doesn't) so I think I'd be safe no matter what I made.

Just did the math (looked at my very first post on here for reference) and I need to get my nest boxes made! The leghorns are between 16 and 18 weeks old, they were far more feathered than any of the other chicks when we picked them up on 4/9, so I'm not sure exactly how old they are. I've caught a few girls (of all breeds) squatting, a few have suddenly bulked up, wattles are getting larger on many girls, and about 1/2 the leghorns' and tetras' combs are getting redder.

Need to get my butt in gear and get those built before I, well Gavin actually, need to egg hunt everyday.

Ok this is an odd question ... you know those small little centipede looking things - they are all outside around where my dog is - she is laying out on the concrete .... they can't hurt her can they??
Mean the millipedes, black without pinchers? The worst they'll do is stink everything up every time they're stepped on and maybe eat some of your plants.

My new little BCMs are a bit skiddish...they only come out of the coop to eat and drink...it maybe the other chooks, the dogs or me....they were supposed to be 12wks....I think they are a tad younger...they are about 1lb....
700

Yeah them, never seen them in such numbers before. It was like something out of a horror movie lol
We always get swarms of them this time of year, and of course they're out mostly at night so I have no idea if the chickens will eat them. Gavin freaks out every time he sees them thinking they're centipedes, doesn't matter how often I tell him they're not...

I collected about 100 of them in a cup the other day and dropped in front of my chickens. No sir, they didn't like them. Wouldn't touch them at all. They won't eat those tent worms that grow in the big webs in the trees either. **** useless birds!!!

Mine will eat them when they are scratching around in the dirt. Didn't really feel like sitting out there at 1am picking them all up - ughh they creep me out!!
