This hatch sucked..... I have one healthy chick out of the 6 that went to lock down. I think it was bacteria from the eggs that broke during shipping.... Had to put down my wellsummer because she had a huge mass on her head and mushy chick disease. Ugh. My crele pen I am not sure if it will make it. If it does I am sure it will be a boy. The basque is happy and healthy. Just lonely and loud! I think I am going to put it out with my silkie and the other babies and see if she will adopt him. Otherwise if the crele doesn't make it I will need to find a friend for my basque chick. Done with hatching for a while. This one was rough.

Sooo. Sorry.

I have 4 50 pound bags of medicated chick starter for sale from L & K mills. I over bought and want to get my money back out of it. Just purchased a week ago. It is 20% protein. $12 a bag. I am located in Swiftwater.

You are absolutely right. It is doable bu I don't know if I have the time to put into it. I built my current coops but I'm not completely happy with them. I have enjoyed watching your progress but all he while I kept thinking you should hav scrapped the dresser and just built a coop from scratch. Lol. I am impressed with what I have seen of your project though! Nice job!
I have to agree with you! the dresser did not make it easier. Just making a simple rectangle would have been easier! Live and learn :)

It is also hazardous work...........I had some minor injuries to fingers and then on Saturday I tripped over a cinder block..........that really really hurt and today I went to urgent care to have them look at my shin wound from that trip...........still bothers me............so it turns out it is a little infected and I got a tetanus shot............ouch and ouch!

Not if you use the right tool for the job..

I just checked Amazon for these and you can buy them for $50 to $70. A little out of my price range right now but I will be getting one as soon as I can. The biggest deterrence to me for building with pallet wood really is just taking them apart. I am no carpenter but some stuff is just so easy to put together if you have the wood and some screws. Thanks for that link. I didn't know these existed and now I really want one!

I have some hatching right now if you are interested, they are Ameraucana bbs.

How are the Wheatens coming along? My girls are starting to redden up and a couple are squatting already. I know they are only 4-6wks old, but was curious and I am getting excited!

Do you / would you make them for fellow BYC pallet harvesters? :D

Somehow, someway the dog got fleas (I may need to switch flea products, but that is another issue). They aren't "bad" but I definitely need to get rid of them! An article in "Mother Earth News" said to sprinkle the carpets with DE, and work in with a broom. Knowing that DE will dry out my hands, what do I do about my feet? I seriously hate slippers, and even socks are annoying. Not to mention, I would think it would come through the socks. The dog will get it all over the furniture and my bed.
Anyone know how smart this is, and /or can you give me some clue as to how to do this? Like how long, and how to keep safe.
