Katy - YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY for an egg finally!!!!!

Omg I am asleep on my feet, I wished I was outside enjoying the day today but noooo, got it in my head today to rearrange our bedroom

moving a king sized bed with my 5'5" height was NOT fun. But it is done thankfully. Have to finish shampooing the carpet in the bedroom tomorrow and sort through the rest of the clothes - winter/summer - figured i'd do it now cause before you know it that one day will hit and BOOM cold everywhere.

Think I am gonna go lock up the girls for the night, make sure the kiddo is asleep then have a nice hot shower and head to bed!!

I am entering my eggs in the perry county fair thi month. Anyone have any tips on what eggs, continer etc to choose?

For our local fair, we collect eggs of the same color and size as uniformity seems to be the biggest determinant. We start a week before the show and keep switching out eggs keeping the best matched ones together. Although they do not crack the eggs at our fair, I've seen them do it at other fairs (Delaware County, next weekend). I believe they are looking for shell strength, yolk color and freshness when they crack the egg. Delaware County's fair last year had someone come from a commercial egg testing company. They had a machine that pressed on the egg until it broke to test the hardness of the shell.

wow Montgomery county has a fair......................where exactly?

Here's the web site, poultry is only shown by their 4H members. Last year there were a couple hundred birds, very nice. : (

Interesting! I know they do crack and open the eggs as it says the will be dq if they see meat spots. Uniformity is going to be hard as I have so many different breeds even hens of the same breed seem to vary from hen to hen. Interesting:)
