So, i need a little help.... With my 15 banty chicks that hatched it gives me a total of 19 banty's. How much square footage should i have for the run area for them? I just can't seem to get my brain to figure it out today.. I know i need to make my run area bigger, it is only 6'x6'. I was thinking about adding another 8'x12' section. Will that give them enough room or should i make it bigger? Thanks for any and all help.

Hello, alcoholics. I have a question. I began my last batch of wine about two months ago. It is still putting off gasses. It smells so good. I want to try it. Can I drink it? How long should it take to finish? My last batch took only four to six weeks. I am using bread yeast at room temperature.

I'm assuming you mean 'really old, polyester stretch pants wearing grandma'?

Not the semi-tall, fat, but young-minded type like myself..... Just had to tease you a bit...

Diane I am talking about the kind of grandma that has their hair done once a week. Wears polyester pants. With seasonal Wal-Mart sweat shirts!!!!!!!!

I should have explained a little more in that rant.....problem for me is the low cut of today's jeans....after numerous surgeries my stomachs looks like a treasure map...most jeans that I try seem to fall right across all those scars..

I haven't' the surgeries but I have the "baby scars" and I know what you mean. Finding anything that isn't going to show my middle (front or back) is a pain and I'm not built for that or young enough for that either. For me it's nearly as hard to find jeans as it is shirts. I hate things being close to my neck, and with tops I like them loose. But finding ones that aren't showing more of the "girls" than anyone except my fiance should see is even more of a pain than jeans I don't need to hem. I don't know why designers think that something that looks good on a size 0 A cup will still look just as good scaled up to size 18 D cup or higher. I have to buy larger sizes for my tops because of my "girls" and that makes it even harder to find ones that aren't showing them off to anyone and everyone...

Someone had mentioned quality. I have 2 pair of jeans that I have literally had since high school and can still wear out in public without looking like trash, and I have a pair I just bought from F. Bug during their closing sale and they already have a massive hole in them. I keep them for putzing around the house, but I can't believe how little quality is put into things anymore. I've had levis and lees that have been anywhere in between as far as longevity. Including a pair that had a tear in the butt pocket area after wearing them once and a pair that finally died after 10 years, zipper couldn't be fixed, but not a hole or thin spot on them. Don't get me started on size differences, men have it lucky they can go in look for a 38 waist with a 32 inseam (or whatever their size is) and usually be golden, a woman has to try half a dozen of the same size to find a pair that fits right...

CC low rise on the wrong build, no matter what age, and with the wrong top is just wrong....

After reading what everyone else wrote, and what I wrote, I am hoping and praying I only have sons...

Since you asked.....I do small batches

From your beer supply store get a :1gal jug, rubber stopper, and a CO2 thingy...(plastic thing on top), and yeast (I have been using Red Star Champagne)
From the grocery store: 1gal of Motts Apple juice (make sure the preservative is Vitamin C based not the other stuff(will kill the yeast) and some brown sugar (or white)

1. the package of yeast is made for 5 gallon batches...use 1/5
2. different yeasts like different temps the type I mentioned works well 60-70 degrees...(some yeasts like is colder and take longer)
3. you will need about 10 swing top bottles if you want it carbonated(grolch SP beer is the best alternative and a good excuse to buy beer)
4. mix the yeast with a bit of warm water to get it started...
5. dissolve 1/2 cup sugar (using the apple juice) in the jug and add rest of juice to jug then add the yeast to jug put the rubber stopper in and the CO2 thingy..(a bit of water is needed for the CO2)
6. put the jug away for 5 days....tic toc
7. On day 5, fill your swing top bottles and put away for two more days (I am experimenting with adding a bit apple juice here to get a sweet finish)
8. I strongly suggest using a funnel in all procedures as keeping things clean counts
9. On day 7, refrigerate to stop the process
10. Want to try this on real cider...but have had to make due with Motts...PS the last swig is all yeast...
The costs: rubber stopper and CO2= $2, Jug=$6, yeast=$1.50 and Motts $4.50
we had a lot of apples last year and since we have a cider press, we made apple cider, put it into the refrigerator in the garage, and promply forgot about it, easy for me, don't drink cider, when my husband remembered last month, he took a bottle out thinking it was still good cider, and took a drink, applejack without trying lol, i thought it would have turned to vinegar by now, but still applejack, and i must admit, its pretty good

I think, and I could be wrong, it's 1/2 what a LF needs so if a LF should have about 10 sq feet in a run, a banty should have 5 sq ft. So 96 (the addition) + 36 (existing) gives you 132 sq feet, 19*5 is 95 sq feet so you should be good. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I think if it's still giving off gasses you should wait, but I've never done wine so I don't know for sure.

Don't forget the glasses style from the 60s

Wing, are you covering up the scars, or are they causing you pain?

Here is another idea. Like Diane said ll bean, bass, and lands end have pretty nice stuff. Expensive, check out thrift stores.

My mom needs pants and jeans in tall, and have a higher rise. She gets them from here too: http://www.countryoutfitter.com/ She gets carhardt and dickies. I am pretty sure they have petites too.

I hope you can find something. Otherwise you can just stay home and run around in your undies!!!!
