Quote: I had already put up with the dozen beagles housed 2 doors down for over 6 months before getting chicks. When I can stand next to my coops & hear the dogs AND SMELL the dogs over my birds (and no one had turned in that neighbor, or any of the other stinky, noisy dog owners on the block) then I really don't think anyone had any place to complain about my birds that couldn't even be heard if you were inside & weren't next to an open window. I only had 2 windows in my entire house that I could hear them from at all & only ever had 1 neighbor even mention hearing any of my roos. That particular neighbor was right next door, worked night shift, got home at 4am & always sat on his porch to watch the sun come up. Otherwise, he never would have heard them either.

My silkie hens have all been so passive until I got this ornery showgirl hen this summer. She picks my poor roo naked if you give her the chance. It's not a protien thing either. She just likes her man to wear less clothes than she does.

My girls are very tame in comparison to these stories! I don't think I would like the aggression worry.................mine seem to play nice and seem pretty happy.

..I am sorry to laugh, but that is funny!!!..

I honestly thought it was a wild bird at first because they're always on the window sills looking for bugs that are trying to get inside this time of year. But when it was still pecking when I swung my arm, I looked and there's this lil lady staring me in the face. The head of my bed is right under this window, my luck this will be the new wake up call from them...

There've been 5 more girls in that window since I took that pic, and who knows how many before that... BRATS!!!!

Gavin's new call ducks, as he says "They're so dadgum cute!"
He is right!! They are cute and cool!! Wish I had a pond..so many feathered friends out there.... you have a pond?...I think somewhere along the way I have already asked that, maybe it wasn't you...but I am old and need reminded
