My son had alot of blod wwork and had scopes done. All came back normal. That was before his surgery. Things haven't changed that much. A friend of mine is having problems with her daughter with stomach pains and the ER dr told her she is ovulating!
Has your friend asked her doctor about bile reflux? My son has that now because of his lack of a gallbladder. His Gi doctor didn't look at that option, my friend told me to tell his doctor about bile reflux. He couldn't eat or drink anything without vomitting because of all the bile.

Poor kiddo, that's something older adults usually deal with. Hopefully they figure out what 's going on, and can treat it. The ovulating diagnosis I can kinda understand (not saying it's right just that I can see it from an E.R. med point of view), I get cramps every time I ovulate, but nothing that would cause me to go to the E.R. My sister on the other hand has polycystic ovaries and has had to go a couple times for the pain and had surgery for one that didn't rupture/reabsorb.

I assume they've checked him for Crohn's? Other than that I'd have no clue. Hopefully he feels better soon, and they figure out what's wrong.
Gotta love blanket diagnosis like that, thank goodness they don't have many of them anymore. I was reading about hysteria and everything it covered 100+ years ago, nearly anything wrong with a woman.

Sonya (our current Lab) has done that many times, and then she climbs in with me. She jumped into the tub with me when she was about 12 weeks old. That was interesting, Gavin was finally asleep so I decided to take a nice long soak, finally relax with my eyes closed. Next thing I know I'm wiping water outta my eyes and she's just sitting on my lap/stomach looking at me as if to say "I love ya Mom. I was lonely"...Be nice if I could get "someone" to remember to close the door when he leaves the bathroom

Yep, and he certainly has a knack for knowing just when his momma needs a good laugh.

Had to take one of my parents' dogs to the vet today. (Now my parents sleep with Sophie (a pom), 3 beagles and a lab in their bed and an occasional cat or 3

.) I guess what happened was the beagles decided it was time to play early this morning and Sophie snapped at them. When she did that one of the larger dogs grabbed her. She hid under my parents' bed until about 1700, when I finally coaxed her out and she was dragging herself using only one paw. She has three puncture wounds on the back of the neck near the spine, is not walking/standing, and has no correction reaction in 3 outta 4 feet (you bend the foot backwards at the wrist/ankle area and they should correct it right away). Vet and I agreed that an x-ray most likely wouldn't show any damage, as it's probably all soft tissue damage. So we have her on an antibiotic for the bite, a pain med, a muscle relaxer and an anti-inflammatory. If she shows improvement by Sat she "may" recover, if no improvement or she's worse it'll be best to put her down. It really sucks as she was my Mam mam's dog, until she passed a few years ago, and she's really not that old for a toy breed.

oh no!!!! I have a pomeranian..he is 5lbs. ...it wouldn't take much to really hurt them...wow, 3 punctures.....oh poor thing..I am so sorry!!!!! I don't know what I am going to do when I don't have Caesar with me.....he is 10 yrs old, but looks & acts like a spry-young guy...he is my baby...

these recent posts have got me thinking......................my girls seem to be getting along sooo nicely..............why would I want to mess with that?


I the late winter / spring I am planning on getting chicks................maybe keep them separate for longer than I intended? why rock the boat so to speak? not sure..............all this drama with a bunch of girls co-habituating! sheesh.................

...girls...have to have a thick skin around them sometimes!!!...The best analogy for having a teenage "daughter" is this.."it is like being locked in a trunk with a rabid wolverine"....sometimes...not all, but some....sorry, i know they are JUST chickens, but it is funny to equate them to kids..
**I am hoping in about a week to have two new girls...I am wondering how the integration will all 'work-out'..(after quarantine of course)...Have the 2 older girls-1yr+ / 9 mnths and (1) chicka-13 weeks.....the new girls will be 4-5 months old....a real mixture of ages!! I am thinking it will give chicka a break from the biggins'...she is extremely intimidated by them, but she still manages.

I have three 1 week chicks that mom is taking out for field trips everyday....when they get chilled, she just lays down and they crawl under for a nap...I too thought it'd be too cold...but I guess not...

+1... with the precautionary note added.... make sure the broody is large enough to cover all over her chicks up through about age 4 wks (or good feathering) If she is a small banty and they are large fowl chicks she may need a bit of help near her nesting area if they don't all fit under her. You can also give her further assistance just by making sure she has plenty of deep, fluffy bedding for everyone to settle into.

My little silkie that hatched. I wonder what color she will be. Momma is a white silkie and dad is a porcelain. She's so cute

While cracking eggs for dinner, this one looks to be fertile. I see a donut around the white dot. What do you think? The egg came from my new to laying Golden Laced Wyandotte girl and my GLW rooster hasn't even crowed yet. They are the same age, around 7 months old. I'm not complaining that he doesn't crow. lol

He can definitely be fertile. Any point from 12 weeks on they can fertilize eggs. 12 weeks isn't very common, but my golden sebright was. He doesn't crow either and is 5 months.

18 month old silver laced wyandotte (some feather loss from previous rooster, starting to molt, still laying) $10

18 month old barred rock (starting to molt, laying decreasing but still getting some eggs) $10

Here's a heart warmer for yas:
Ok one way to tell you shouldn't have as much to drink at dinner: Come home from dinner with your Dad and son to find one of the unplanned hatches under the nest boxes, cold and not moving. Instead of your normal "It's nature's way," you decide to give it emergency resp and compressions, and rub it to warm/stimulate it. Now not only do you get it breathing, but it is up and moving/eating/drinking.
Here I was planning to NOT get attached...I'm sticking to the Dr. Feelgood (tastes like Dr Pepper) at the local rib place from now on, no more pumpkin martinis...
