DH had some ham scraps from dinner..i cut them up into small pieces...threw them to the girls...yeah, I should have videoed that one..I think it would have scared some people!!
It really gives you a different look at those creatures!!! Raptors...is what comes to mind...think people should know/see the truth about these birds!!...they are NOT vegetarians...no way!!...hahaha...
When that Perdue commercial comes on about how their birds are fed a strictly veggie-diet...yeah, makes me laugh. People just don't know the truth and are fed by propaganda...but I think that is a different thread..hahahha...sorry JMO..hahhaha...

Not chicken related..I hope this is okay
My baby grand daughter, got to watch her over night...so much fun!!!
Yes, she has 'played' with the chickens..more the chicks, when we had them...she loves animals!!

she is cooking and has a helper...hahaha, those two love each other!

Straw available at Gardners Landscape Nursery, just north of Pickering Valley feed for $7.99 a bale. Stack it up for a wind break, shake it out on top of snow for them to walk about, make a pile for them to snuggle in. Usefull stuff in the winter!

Sharon:

Its been my experience that the closer to Philly, the more the $$$ goes up....Wing mentioned having hay and some barley a lot cheaper that you can get around here...(or it may have been straw)....

Wind:

Never made it to Gardners....do they have feed also?

Howdy everyone! Ugh this weekend went too quick, but I had to share my new eggs, I just started to get a deep olive colored egg, from my FBCM, ugh... and I have another thats dark brown with spots. Not the color eggs I wanted but they are cool anyway.

I am getting chick envy! They are so cute!:love  The neighbor took a bunch of eggs from me (mostly BCM) to hatch. She says they are due in a week. I want them to hatch, but I don't. They will not be well cared for, but I was tired of telling her no to any of my flock or hatching eggs. These were eggs from when my flock was wormed. They were just laying there on the ground, and she asked if she could incubate them. Now I have to stay strong when/if she shows me the new babies. Cute. Adorable. Gotta Haveable. Babies. :barnie  Must-not-incubate!
I would offer to help her start out, give her some pointers, and ask if you could bring an older hen over. You would get to see the (adorable) chicks and maybe get to know her, or not. :/
