...DH says it looks good with the other "chicken paraphernalia" around here...I don't have much, but it is funny to see peoples reactions to it. Beautiful eggs!! I can't wait to see what Chickadee(BCM) will give us!!

Does everyone always leave the chicks with momma?..even when it is so cold like this?...it is amazing how they keep warm through all of the dips in temperatures!!!

Love to checking out the clearance sections!!..I have bought many wonderful Roses, and shrubs in the "forgotten piles"...it is amazing what just a little TLC will do for these things!!

Hope everyone is having a great day!! Sure is jacket season..BRRRRR...I really need to start video taping my mornings with these crazy birds...seriously!! I was giving the 'big' girls their food, when I heard wings flapping and 'someone' talking to me at my feet..it was the larger blue girl..apparently she was tired of waiting for me to bring their bowl over to them and she decided to come on over and help-herself'!! ..I was like ..WT???...okay, so let me scoop you up and your food bowl..back into run you go...and here is breakfast!! They act like I haven't feed them for days!! Just keeping my fingers back!! hahhaa...Crazy chickens and the people who love them!!

Had a close encounter with a red tail today.... so scary. I felt like stake lol.

And what I thought was a green sheen to my RIR's feathers is actually a green color on the edges of her wing feathers.... boy?
 





Here are my silkies I just got home with a little bit ago. They are 6 weeks. They are my first silkies. I do have a question, are they big enough to not put marbles in there water? This is the first I've had chicks. I figure they are big enough to not drown in the water, but didn't want to be wrong.

I didn't have marbles in the water at that point, ***BUT***..that is me,..maybe someone has a different opinion on the matter. They look really nice TC!! Have fun & good luck with them!!

After about a week of the chooks being real defensive, they finally loosened up a bit and went back to normal behavior today....hope your hawk was just passing through...they are a big PIA....I've had three under 10' and within 20' of the chooks for days...fortunately the roos are alert and they flew off when they couldn't get a clean shot at a chook....find myself behaving like a roo...constantly scanning.....
