Well no change in my hen....I dont know what else to try with her....i also noticed today that she has mites....could this be the problem or do you think because she hasnt been bathing and grooming herself for the last week.... What is the best way to treat them?

I use sevin dust in a nylon and dust her down, you need to do entire area and change bedding, you can use a liquid mix and spray in the coops.

sevin as in the stuff i use in my garden or do they make it esp for this? I dusted her with some DE. cause thats what I hate on hand and knew it was safe for animals...

IMO.....DE is great for prevention but I would not use it for a treatment..
2nd that..but i am only a newbie..I also use sevin..i use the same stuff as in the garden..not alot, just enough..under wings & at the vent..in their sleep areas-mixed in with the sand. The sevin that i use in the garden(only when I HAVE to)..has the same whatever that ingredient is,(brain fart), that is okay for birds...now I know some people are totally against using anything and this stuff, but you know what..you do what is good for you & yours..is my motto...it works and my girls are not having any issues.

DE will help prevent but won't get rid of parasites once present. I use ivermectin.
