Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Hi everyone been a long time since I was on. Been so busy with the kids and family life! So excited to set some eggs want to set them so they hatch out near my daughter's( turning 5 )birthday so she is soo anxious. I am so ready for spring and babies babies babies. Who else is looking forward to hatching??

I'm really anxious to start up my new incubator. I'm getting a few eggs this weekend, mostly "barnyard mixes", but at least a few Breda's. I'm hoping they are fertile, given the bout of nasty weather.

Spring really is on the way, isn't it?

Anyone in the Pottstown to Norristown area have fertile eggs they want hatched? Or for sale?

Hey Blarney, I am setting my bantam Cochins! I had gotten a few from that cockerel you picked up for me last year and the babies were gorgeous so I can't wait to hatch more of his babies! Do you guys still have your MF Cochins?? My mom I think is gonna end up with just MF she has some really nice ones she even has a frizzel!! What do you have hatching out? Saw your son did great in Mass last week I beat he was ecstatic!!

Happy to hear you made it home ok I always say I'm not worried about me it is I am worried about all the other crazy people who don't know how to drive in the snow!

I may have some bantam Cochins soon well as long as I can get them in before they get so cold. Haven't been lucky right now seems like they lay as soon as I leave them and by the time I back the eggs are COLD!!

I know what you mean about the cold. Last Saturday I got one egg that was newly laid and still a little warm, but the rest I figure we might as well eat.

What colors of cochins do you have? Bantams, especially silkies and cochins, will always have a special place in my heart, even if they are not as practical for the farm as the LF breeds.

As early as the week of Feb. 24th! Yay! Um, btw... Should I add a leghorn for consistent laying? Or stick with 4? We do eat a lot of eggs around here....

Well said Blarney! Lol

I do believe chippy is still in high school. Pretty sure she's referring to her chicky babies in the bator/brooder.
