and not to sound gross or upsetting.. but did you do any type of Necropsy to see what happened?

All of mine that have had issues are "production" type birds bred for laying. My slower maturing heritage style girls (even the hatchery ones) have all been fine.
 
I don't know what I was thinking, leaving the eggs out on the back sun porch yesterday. I froze the eggs!

So, I cooked them (with the shells) and made the last of the oatmeal.






Sturgis was ticked that he didn't get any.

The birds sure do love their scrambled eggs!! Poor Sturgis.... though I am confidant he didn't go hungry for long!
