I have plans to set up for rabbits this spring, nothing large scale, just enough for us and family and maybe sell a few...
well hubby surprised me today with plans of his own,,,,,this man wants to raise fish to eat, I better start some research, is this even a possibility, he insist it is............I never even had a goldfish let alone big fish.....but he does have a point, we eat fish atleast twice a week.... can you tell,,,I think he is nuts..
Farming catfish is not uncommon, biggest factor may be weather... I don't know how they handle frozen ponds when fish farming on a commercial level. Would be pretty interesting though.
We had walleye last night... love catching our own fish to eat.
everything I have found so far is down south,,,,except for this winter our weather is much different,,,,his plan is inside with large tanks..

had a friend talking about that a couple of weeks ago, there's suppose to be a company that will set you up, supply everything , you do the work of raising them, when ready to harvest, they come in ,harvest, pay you your cut , plus you raise veggies on the waste in the water, hydroponic ? course hes talking about doing it big time, thousand of gallons per tank
guess I really should research this,,,,wonder what kind of market would be around here..
but like I said early...I know nothing about fish, never even cleaned a fish after catching them....I only do the cooking...
might just let him try this on a very small scale to see what happens...wonder if he could do the hydroponics and grow some stuff for my bunnies
