I have been reading about poison vs electric traps vs glue...............

Try herbal. scents. I heard that they hate the smell of... ah I forget. Ehh. Get some guineas. They'll take care of em. Some people get them if they have snake problems. Snakes in the coop? *shiver*

I found some pics on cacklehatchery's website and they are straight up yellow, not reddish or striped. I'm gonna go look at them again.

BTW, a little search tip -- searching for "New Hampshire chicks" can produce some "spurious" results you might not want to have in your search history !!

excuse me DH, I googled  'New Hampshire chicks' and not one pole dancer showed up......just what results did you get?

I call Tractor Supply every day, and what I got today was "Yes, we received a small shipmet today". e Guess where I'm going tonight? I can't get anything though.


Sending out a desperate plea for hatching eggs that will give me fluffy yellow peeps to set next Thursday. If you or anyone you know locally (within driving distance) has anything, PLEASE pm me.

My mom's friend is a photographer and is doin easter photos. She asked me if I could hatch her peeps and I said of course (assuming Priscilla would be laying by now), but it doesn't look like I'll be able to get half a dozen eggs by next Thursday. Darn. Buff cochin chicks would have been perfect. If anyone has any eggs I could hatch just give me a price. I only need a half dozen. Please no crested chicks.

If you have any pekin duck eggs I'd take that as a last resort.

Lemme see, between my critters, the kids'critters & the roommate's critters, we have the following:
37 Chickens & chicks
2 geese
6 turkeys
13 ducks
1 rabbit
1 snake
1 turtle
5 cats
1 dog
1 ferret
2 goats
& 3 monkies (we send these to school 5 days a week & let the teachers deal with them...lol)

Oh...and 3 incubators stuffed full of chicken, duck, turkey & quail eggs.

I apologize for my mini freak out last night. Everyone made it through the night, even without a divorce! I think I had one chick who was lonely and wouldn't shut up.

She would only stop peeping when someone came into the room and gave attention. *She was also the first escape artist. Anywho, the peeping stopped shortly after midnight. Pics to come later....
