Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

They are cute!  I know that folks traditionally like the little yellow ones, but I have always had a soft spot for the brown chipmunks myself!... though who am I kidding... I adore all of them!

that's me too. I prefer the different colors and patterns :) Flurry is still the favorite though. She (hopefully) was the only white chipmunk in the whole ameraucana bin. I'm so thankful that we were the first ones there to get chicks that day lol.

Such adorable babies!

I don't know if I have Spring Fever this year or Chick Fever XD.

So I keep thinking about those bins of "Assorted Pullets" at TSC.

All of them were chipmunk colored. So I know there are no Barred Rocks, RIR, RSL, or White Leghorns in there.
What breeds have chipmunk colored chicks?

Though I have my heart set on a single Brahma, Silkie, CCL, and hopefully BCM for my last 4 hens. I am soooo tempted to get half a dozen of those chicks to grow out just to see what they turn into.

The chipmunk chicks are usually from breeds that are "wild-type" colored as adults - brown leghorns, welsummers, red jungle fowl, etc.
Easter Eggers can be all sorts of colors, and what you find in the "ameracauna" bins at the feed stores. It's hard to say what they will look like as adults.

Good morning folks:

Here's my rundown:

Had an Amazon delivery today....all parts for the coolerbarter are now here. (still need something to monitor humidity)
My Main roo, has lost 1/2 the points on his crop to frostbite....but he is healthy
My sick GLW girl went to the vet this morning....

Hope everyone stays warm!

A couple chick questions if anyone has time to answer:

How soon can I give them (just a few) chopped dried mealworms?
Should I try to give them some yogurt to build up their gut flora? I am feeding unmedicated food so I want them to build up a good immune system early.
How about ACV in the water?
When is a good time to start?
They just came in last night so they are only a couple days old.
Is all this sleepiness usual? I would think it is, but I just want to be sure. Everyone seems to be eating, drinking, and pooping well. I only hear little cheeps. :)

Sorry for being a P.I.T.A. !

The answer to all are "yes" & "now." I would give them a bit of sand or grit too to help crunch up the meal worms.
